Mary V. Hicks was born February 28, 1935 to the late Edgar Hicks Sr. and Minnie Lee Kendrick Hicks in Union Springs, Alabama.

She confessed Christ and joined the Greater Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She lived a joyful and happy life. On Saturday, May 9, 2015, God saw that Mary was getting tired and she quietly and peacefully left her earthly home
to be with her God.

Her memories will forever be cherished by her two loving daughters: Patricia
(James) Carter, Pensacola FL and Holly Tanton, Leeds, AL; Four Brothers: August (Rose) Hicks, Union Springs, Al; Edgar (Lilly) Hicks Jr., Maple Heights, OH; James E. (Julia) Hicks, College Park, GA; Lonneye N. Hicks, Ellenwood, GA; Three sisters: Edna H. Cobb, Randallstown, MD; Bettye (Silas) Sullen, Senoia, GA; Idia Hicks, Decatur, GA; One granddaughter: Chasity (P.J.) Carter, Montgomery, Al; One great grandson: Ane’Quay Pitts, Montgomery, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
