My absolute favorite memory is before grandma lost her leg. She lived in the apartments in Salina. Pig n out was just recently opened and they had the flavored ice cream for $.50 a cone. Grandma would take me and my brothers to pig n out and we would eat ice cream and walk around the river bank. We would also walk to the boat dock and find “oysters” (so we thought) and try and get pearls out of them. 

I loved playing bingo with grandma. She was my good luck charm. She always won something and hardly (if ever) left empty handed. 

I’ll never forget packing my “spinnin da night bag” and going to grandmas for the weekends. She always loved having her grandkids over. She loved cooking for us. I always loved talking to grandma. Grandma taught me to crochet, and play bingo.
