Her Life

The Next Chapter

May 13, 2021
As many of you know I have been offering celebrant services for a number of years. It is truly where my heart is and I feel that it’s ‘now or never’ for me to build this business called Shine On Memorials.  I will miss the view from my office shown here.  Look out Volunteer Coordinator, here I come.
But first, a couple of months to finish our renos, plant my garden, read, practice yoga, work on Shine On Memorials.  I am looking forward to enjoying our home and spending time with Winston, Winnie.  Surely a walk most days, perhaps a bike ride.
As for Tyson and I?  We are planning to haul our Greystone for a 7 day trip to William Switzer Park and take various short trips over the summer.
After this rest I will look for a part time job as a receptionist, concierge or recreation aide to compliment my Shine On Memorials business.
I hope our paths cross again. Please remember my memory is lacking. The work I do with you is rewarding but I cannot carry all the precious details.  I do tend to live in the moment and often the past eludes me. I always like talking to you.
Building Tomorrow Today - The future is bright.

Time at SEESA

In August 2000 I found an ad in The Edmonton Examiner.  It read, "Looking for an Office Administrator for South East Edmonton Seniors Association.  Must be personable and have typing skills.  Please reply with resume to 9350-82 St."  Since I was working a Northgate Lions as a Program Assistant I knew how great senior centres were.  After all I was coming from the most cheerful place going.  I met with a 6 person committee.  Seems what should have seemed intimidating came quite naturally and I  was given the position in August of 2000.  In 2008 I stepped away from the Executive Director position to pursue funds for the building expansion.  Kimberly became the Executive Director.  At this time I trained as a Life Celebrant.  Over the years  I have done many positions and for a year before COVID I had my dream job as Event Planner.  We were just getting rolling. My signature events were The Rummage Sale, Golden Gals Fashion Show, Fun Casino, Member's Memorial, Lifetime Tea, Remembrance Day,  The Vintage Fashion Shows, Celebrations of Life, Rentals, and Volunteer Appreciation. The staff and I loved going all out to Celebrate our Volunteers, it was always a all hands on deck affair.

Grateful for my Cohorts

I Get by with a Little Help....

May 19, 2001 I married my knight in shining armor Tyson Jaedicke.  He has supported me quietly mostly but often too, pitching in to help.  Not sure if it was me or Susie who talked him into doing the dishes on this New Year's Eve  LOL.
