Mary M. Giles, 59, of Lewisville, TX passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at her home.  She was born to Ethel and Raymond Dorrett on August 2, 1961.

Predeceased by her husband, Bob in 2008; her parents Ethel & Raymond Dorrett; siblings Katherine Bliven, Earl Clark Jr, Richard Clark, Nancy Chapman, Donna Prince, and Chas Clark.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Chera Hurst; son-in-law, Jordan, and granddaughter Madalynn (Madee) Grace; her brother, Teddy Clark; sisters Bonnie Dannheim and Sandra Nolder; as well as countless nieces and nephews, many of who were like siblings to her and many friends that were like family to her.  She has also left behind her beloved dogs, Harley and Lilly.

Mary grew up and was raised in Bolivar, NY where she married her beloved Bob – Robert L. Giles on August 9, 1980.  She and Bob married young and spent much of their time chasing adventure and dreams.  This took them to Taft, CA where their daughter, Chera was born in 1981.  After briefly returning to NY, they also lived in Tallahassee, FL, where they fell in love with the beaches on the Emerald Coast.  They finally settled in Denton, TX in 1995 where they lived life to the fullest and loved life on a Harley Davidson.  After Bob’s passing in 2008, Mary returned to Tallahassee, FL, and upstate NY for a few years before heading back to Texas.

She worked at OneSource Virtual, where she made numerous lifelong friendships.

Mary loved to spend the day by the pool, lathered in Australian Gold tanning lotion and she enjoyed live music with good friends.

Mary’s proudest moment in life was the day her granddaughter, Madee was born.  She never thought she would get to be a grandmother, and she was the best Memaw anyone could ask for.

The family will have a private ceremony next summer to scatter Mary’s ashes along with her husband, Bob’s.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Toys for Tots or the ASPCA.

Mary Giles was a wonderful lady. I meet Mary when her daughter Chera meet my son Jordan. She become part of our family, I remember sitting in the waiting room of the hospital when Chera was about to have Madee.

Mary said I always wanted to be a Grandma and I can't believe I am about to get to be one. We both cried together and said a prayer that Chera and Madee  made it through and both are fine. That day Madee got herself a MeMaw and a Gigi.

Mary you will truly be missed from all our lives.
You were a great, awesome MeMaw to little Ms. Madee and I will do everything in my power to make sure she knows that as she grows up.

Rest in Peace Mary. I am gonna do my best to be their for Chera, Jordan, little Ms. Madee and your babies Harley and Lilly.

Sending prayers to the family. I worked with Mary in Plano, TX in the Global Information Security department. We were both Team Leads so we had an opportunity to work together on many security projects. Mary was always very friendly and kind. I pray that our father, Jehovah God and his son, Jesus Christ, continues to comfort her family during their time of loss.

Sweet Mar Mar

July 7, 2021
There are so many things about Mar Mar that hold a special placein my heart. I’m so thankful her and Bobert’s moved to TX all those years ago. I was lucky to live just a few streets away from Chera. I was a latch-key kid so I was home alone a lot. Mary and Bob let me crash their family dinners on numerous occasions. Mary’s meatloaf and potato salad was, is, and always will be my favorite. Anytime I hear a Lori Morgan song I think of Mary. She was always the super cool mom. She was wise enough to let ya know when you were doing something wrong, but super cool about not making you feel bad about it.
She was the mom of all moms.

Damn, I hate this.

The only thing comforting about hearing about your passing is just knowing that now, without a shadow of a doubt, you’re with your Bobert’s.

I love y’all.

My Baby Sister

She was special to me, my baby sister. Will miss her very much. Hard to understand but it was God’s will so I will accept His decision. I know she is very happy now she is with Uncle Bobart her long love. I will love and miss you always.  Bonnie Mae
