Her Life
October 12, 2016

Marylyn Seif, 82, of Chicago passed peacefully at home October 6, 2016.  She is survived by her son, Mark Greenebaum of St. Petersburg FL, and daughter, Claudia Lee (Boyd) of Crown Point IN, and grandchildren, Boyd, IV and Morgan.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frank Stitt.  Marylyn was born January 20, 1934, in Canton Ohio.  She is a graduate of the Andrews School for Girls.

Marylyn loved her cats, her family, her friends, her books, and the City of Chicago.  She owned and operated many diverse businesses, starting with the Sample Example clothing store in the 1970’s and continuing throughout her life.  She believed in hard work, self-reliance, science, travel, and enjoying all that life had to offer.   She loved a beautiful flute glass of good champagne, sitting at a gorgeous bar discussing world events, trying to make the world a better place or just enjoying the company of her friends.  She absolutely lived life to the fullest, and age never slowed her down.

Per her wishes, Marylyn’s body was donated to medical science.   A fighter to the end, she lost her short battle with cancer, the treatment proved too much.  If you wish to honor her memory, please send donations to your favorite Animal Rescue organization.
