While parenting her 6 children, she moved to Modesto, CA and established community and dug her roots at Maze Blvd Christian Church where she worshipped and served in various ministries for over 30 years.

Jesse and Marzella Kelly moved from Mississippi to Chicago and from Chicago to San Francisco, CA in 1961 in search of a new chapter in their lives. They then moved to Modesto in 1973.
