Mum, it’s been 2 years since you left us to be with your maker. We miss you every single day especially on Sundays when we visit your place at Teshie/Nungua Estates to continue with the tradition.
However, we know you are happy where you are and that’s a consolation for us. Continue to Rest In the bosom of the Lord.
Rest in peace.

Auntie Matilda has always been a loving presence in my life. From Kumasi days, to Dansoman days and to Teshie Nungua days. I always admired her strength. She embodied all the qualities of a good matriach. Her smile, laughter, warmth and kind hospitality. I regret not visiting you in the last few years. Always meaning to and then procrastinating in the belief that Auntie Matilda would always be there!
Oh, Auntie Matilda. Da yie....
May you rest in perfect peace!

Grandma was loving and kindhearted mother to me, my friends and everyone she comes across with. She thought me sooo many things my pen can't write and even time will not allow me to tell. Granny was my fighting and laughing partner ( my all in all). She thought me the real meaning of life and being a woman. Smiling ,Greetings and learning were her everyday anthem "Nana follow my footsteps" that's what she always tells me. Grandma was my reason of polishing up my hairdressing skills.

Auntie Matilda and my late mum were friends. We lost touch with you after 1975 when sadly our mum passed away, but you never forgot us and sought us till you met our cousin and asked her if she knew us.
When you heard our cousin's surname you asked her if she knows us and were delighted to reconnect with us! My first visit to her home was bitter sweet - of joy and yet sadness, that mum hadn't lived long enough, but you comforted me and told me I was always welcome to visit! I visited a couple of times and kept promising to go back!
The week I heard of your passing, you were constantly on my mind to visit you! Alas I did not make time to do so!!
I am so sorry auntie Matilda, that I didn't obey God's whisper to visit!
May God bless you! Greetings to our mum! As you renew yr friendship we are lucky to have two wonderful angels above with the Father!
Rest in perfect peace auntie! You will be sorely missed by us the Annan-Wilberforce children you looked for! We love you! You were a faithful friend to our mum. Even when you could not find us you were relentless in yr search!
May your children and their children find their auntie Matilda!
Rest in perfect peace auntie!
May light perpetual lead you home to your father in heaven!
Love always!!

Maa was kindhearted and always good in all her doings. She was a mother who was eager to welcome everyone at any time. I always got the pleasure of witnessing firsthand her steadfastness when it came to receiving visitors near and far. Maa, it has been a while since we lost contact, but I pray the good Lord who knows best gives us the strength to go on without you. May faith and happiness rest in your bosom. I hereby surrender all your efforts in Jesus’ name.

On Sundays after church we normally pass through Maa’s house to spend some time with her. Knowing that we would show up, she dresses and make up waiting for us. She knew the time we close from church so if after an hour and she does not see any sign of us coming around, she would start calling to ask why we did not go to church because attending Church service was a very important activity to her and the family It was interesting sitting with her in her garden talking about all that happened in the past week even though she had already told us on phone.

My visits to you were either on Saturdays or Sundays to spend some time with you, where you brief me on current affairs from most of the radio and TV stations. From there we move to briefing on family updates from our hometown.
My plan was to see you on Sunday 30th May, 2021 to give you your food stuff, monthly stipend and spend some time with you. Little did I know that you will be gone before day breaks.

A little tribute true and tender, just to show that we remember. Time may pass and fade away, but memories of you will always stay. <3
