Life of Matthew Oluwapamilerin Keripe

Matthew Oluwpamilerin Keripe,  c. 16 December 1939 was a trained physiotherapist, former Nigerian Army Colonel and Christian Clergyman. He served the Nigerian Army for 30 years and he retired as Director of Chaplain Services (Protestant) in 2000. After his retirement from the army, he served as Proto-presbyter of Methodist Church of the Trinity Tinubu 2000 to 2007.

Early Life
Matthew Oluwapamilerin Keripe was born to the family of Mr Moses Ogunsanya Keripe and Mrs Victoria Okeola Keripe on 16th December 1939 at Oko Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria. Matthew enrolled into Methodist Primary School Sonyindo, and Methodist Primary school oko sagamu. He attended for three (3) secondary schools; Secondary Modern school Ago Iwoye, Secondary Modern school Sagamu and Secondary Modern school Ikeja.
Career /Education
After his secondary school education Matthew Oluwapamilerin Keripe when on to become a Nurse Trainee. He completed a one-year training program at Nurses Preliminary Training school Ibadan. He completed his diploma in physiotherapy at the Willesden Polytechnic London. He obtained a diploma in theology at the Immanuel College of Theology Ibadan. He then went to complete his B.A Hons and M.A at the University of Nigeria Nsukka.  
Pre-Military

It was while he worked at Ijebu Ode General hospital as Nurse Trainee he met the love of his life Late Mrs Beatrice Keripe. He travelled to England to where he worked as a staff nurse while he studied to be a physiotherapist at the Willesdon Polytechnic now called (College of North West London).  Upon the completion of his diploma, he devoted his time to the Cheshire home for Paraplegics and disabled a non-governmental organisation set up in Kampala, Uganda. While living in London, he began to help out in the service of God, and at some point was started out as a local preacher at the Victoria Road North Methodist Church in Portsmouth, he had several of these types of engagements everywhere he lived, Hampshire England, Kampala Uganda, Lagos, Benin City, and Ibadan. 

Military Service
In 1970, Matthew Oluwapamilerin Keripe joined the Nigerian army, to help the post-civil war efforts. He worked as a physiotherapist at the Armed forces Convalescence and rehabilitation depot (AFCARD) in Lagos, Nigeria. He opened the rehabilitation depot for the rehabilitation of the soldiers and officers who had been maimed and disabled in the brutal civil war. The occupational therapy of AFCARD later metamorphosed to the Oshodi Armed Forces Rehabilitation and Resettlement centre. He also continued his work as a clergyman at Methodist church Yaba (now Hoarse Memorial Cathedral).
Matthew Oluwapamelerin Keripe Got ordained for full ministry after he had completed his theological study at Immanuel College of theology. Upon completion, he was posted to the 33 Brigade Chaplain, Garrison headquarters, Maiduguri. He continued to serve in the Chaplain services of the Nigerian Army and in 1996 he was promoted to the Director of Chaplain services, he served in that capacity on until he voluntary retired from active service in 2000.   

Post-Military Retirement
Upon his retirement from the Nigeria Military, He continued his religious work with The Methodist church, Tinubu Square, Lagos. He served at the church as Proto-Presbyter between 2000 to 2007
