My Father is Matt and Johnny's Uncle Steve from Arizona. I shared three pictures of Matt and Johnny with Uncle Steve. My family was very excited when Matt and Johnny would visit us in Arizona. My Father was proud of his sister's children. I love the picture of my Father holding the boys. There is a special place in all of our hearts for them. Matt will be missed by many.

What can be said about such a special man other than if you had the pleasure of knowing him, you will never forget him. He had a way of always making you feel special. His kindness towards everyone and soft spoken manner will live on forever in our hearts. Thinking of him makes me smile. A wonderful man taken way too soon. He will be forever missed.

A favorite memory - how cool it was to have a fireman uncle! Visiting Uncle Matt at the fire station when I was a kid was a great thrill, especially the day he pulled the engine out of the station and let me sit in the driver's seat where everybody could see me! I was on top of the world!

I worked with Matt at Fire Station 22 sometime in the 80's. He was a true gentleman and always one of the good guys. He'll be missed.

Growing up I always hoped to be like my father, kind, athletic, friendly and patient. I always knew I was loved very much and was reminded daily. Anyone friend of his I ever met always made a point of letting me know what a great man he was. I hope someday to be half the man he was. I loved him so much and will miss him always... goodbye dad

our great freind and neighbor

December 28, 2011

We first met Matt and Donna in 1964 as we moved into Sunrise Valley. For the next 30 years we got to know Matt as a great neighbor and freind. Matt was truely a one of a kind man. He was always upbeat and a joy to be around. Matt was agreat fan of Oak Grove, the 49ers and golf. Some of best memories are from the games at Oak Grove and playing golf with Billy and Terry. The good ones go way to soon, Matt will be forever missed.
