One of fourteen children born to the union of Brady and Ida Kindred, Mrs. Phillips was born in Opelika, AL and was a devout member of Nazareth Baptist Church where she served diligently with the Usher's Ministry. She was employed for many years with Fieldcrest Mills.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Phillips, twelve siblings, and her daughter-in-law, Doris Dysick.

Survivors include; her devoted sons, Willie Dysick and Jerry Dysick, Sr.; three grandchildren, Alvin F. Dysick, Sr., Jerry Dysick, Jr. and Terry Dysick; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Morriel Martin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
