Maurice "Morris" Church was born on August 11, 1942 in Petersburg, IN to Joseph and Clona Church. He served 12 years in the US army. He served as a paratrooper in the Vietnam war and was a staff sergeant.
He later moved to Geneva, fl where he was a truck driver for Hillside Farms for many years. He moved to Sanford, fl in September of 2020 due to being ill.
Maurice was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and Squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer in October of 2020. He fought as much as he could but lost his battle on Feb. 7, 2021.
His family describes him as loving, stubborn but kind hearted and a jokester. He loved to tell jokes and play tricks on people. He was always willing to help people when they needed it. 
Maurice leaves behind his three children; Katie Church of Sanford, FL. Tana Scott and Todd church of Washington, IN. 2 brothers Dean Church of Petersburg, IN. and Danny Church of Mesa, AZ. 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews of Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Tina Church-Powell, 8 siblings and 3 grandsons.
Maurice was a wonderful man who had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He will always be loved and remembered.
