ForeverMissed
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Maurice Dennis, 45 years old, born on October 18, 1974, and passed away on June 6, 2020. We will remember him forever. We will hold him in our hearts as the days pass, until we too pass, when we will be reunited with him. We will find ways to honor him, such that his death was not in vain. We will seek ways to connect with him from the great beyond. We will focus on the moments we shared with him: his infectious smile, ready laughter, charisma for days, and endless love. We will remember the sound of his voice, freestyles, and captivating singing voice. We will reflect on how we can be better to ourselves and others in his name. We will remember what he wanted for us and what he wanted for himself. "True love never dies." - Maurice

This is taken from letters Maurice sent in 2017-2018 while living in Harrisburg, PA: "I'm so excited. I know I can be me...I take these words seriously...I'm tired of the past. I'm ready for new goals and dreams. I'm on a high that no drug can touch. Maybe God is giving me another chance to be happy. I am a changing man with room for improvement. Not too sure what I should do about more schoolin' but I'm willing to take on new challenges. Anything to make a better life...Sometimes I think of our teenage days and miss how we didn't have a care in the world. I know myself and the rest of the crew had no fear of death, jail, sickness...I wasn't always the best dude but I am committed to changing...for my family, for you, and for myself. I'm focused and really am excited to move on with my life."

Maurice, we love you and always will. God bless. Rest in peace. God has you in his arms now. We will see you in the next beyond.

My heart broke when I heard what had happened. We just recently reconnected around February! I wish I could have seen you one last time, had it not been for this damn COVID19! We were able to share pics, and caught up with what has been going on in our lives since we last saw each other, but that does not seem to be enough. I will not dwell on what could have been. Instead, I will cherish the memories we made. We had some great times for sure (break dancing in the backyard, building snow igloos, sleepovers (do not be the first to fall asleep HAHA), playing video games, pretending we were driving in my car that had no engine HAHAHAHA). I can go on for days recounting all the good times. I remember how excited/scared you were when Alanah was born, how mom assured you all would be ok, you were strong and you would make things work. I did not say this last time we spoke but Thank You for being there for me when I was pregnant with and had Khalil. Thank You for being a great friend/brother. Distance and time has no bearing on true friendship. We are the perfect example of that. Love you and miss you Maurice! Say hi to Dad and Lady :-)

A Brother

Shared by Rachel Irvin on June 15, 2020
I met Maurice through my husband Michael Irvin, they were childhood friends. He always showed me respect and love.  He lived with Mike and I for a year, and it wasn't easy, but it was definitely full of laughter and fun.  Mike and i would tell him slow down, you are doing way too much.  Seemed like Reese took on everyone's problems and he wanted to solve them.  He has such a big heart. He didn't want to hear that our problems, or anyone else problems and issues were not his. God seen your heart, Reese.
You always joked and said Mike kicked you out 7 times, and Mike would say "YES, and i will kick you out 7 more" , then  you would say,  "See, you do love me, and i love ya!" You guys were so silly together.  WE ARE getting that barber shop you and Mike Dreamed about, and we are going to call it Crazy Cutz. You said come up with something catchy, well there you go, its in memory of you , and i guess only "South Siders" or "BDC"  will know why, so Mike says.  Your name is about to become a FRANCHISE. "DREAM BIG or dont dream AT ALL" , RIGHT??
You are forever in our hearts and you are dearly missed already.  You got the rest you needed....GOD HAS YOU NOW, REST EASY my friend.
