Mrs. Mavis Lynn Ransaw was born to the late Mr. John  William and Mrs. Ruthie Thomas on December 14,1948.   

She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and later  united with Miracle Baptist Church.   

Mrs. Mavis Lynn Ransaw was called home on December  15, 2014 at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City,  Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents: John  William Thomas and Ruthie Thomas; and one son,  Bradley Thomas.   

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband  Charles Ransaw of Alexander City, AL. She was a  dedicated mother, sister, and grandmother to seven  children: the late Bradley Thomas, James (Valory) Thomas  both of Alexander City, AL; Tabutha (M.C.) Reed of  Cleveland, Ohio; Darryl (Melissa) Ransaw, Tracy Ransaw,  [ermaine Ransaw, and Tameka (Terrance) Stovall all of  Alexander City, AL. One godson Johnny Russell of  Alexander City, AL. Four sisters: Lucille (Willie) Johnson  and Melissa Hutchins both of Dadeville, AL; Bessie  (Johnny) Russell and Linda Thomas both of Alexander  City, AL. Four brothers: Larry Thomas of Alexander City,  AL; Dwayne (Annie) Thomas and John Wayne (Varnessa)  Thomas both of Birmingham, AL; Frederick Thomas of  Dadeville, AL. Three sister-in-laws: Annie Tuck, Ada  Robinson, and Linda (Rev. Eddie) Hunter all of Alexander  City, AL. Two brother-in-laws: Willie Frank (Netherland)  Tuck and Rev. Kenny (Cheryl) Ransaw both of Alexander  City, AL. Eleven grandchildren: Tiffaney Kelley, Marcus  Whetstone, Levis Thomas, Dorthea Thomas, Tiana  Ransaw, [amya Ransaw, and Charity Ransaw all of  Alexander City, AL; LaPorsha (Tariz) Walker and Darryl  Ransaw both of Dadeville, AL; Darrion Turner and  Autumn Reed of Cleveland, Ohio. Five great  grandchildren: Kamarion Burton, Markell Whetstone,  Si'myah Cook, Dream Ward, and Harvey Canady. She also  leaves a host of nieces, nephews, special relatives, and  friends.
