I know this is late but grandma I miss you so much. It's sad to know that I can't come over to your house every weekend. Your seat at the church is empty most of the time. We leave it open because we know that it's you seat. I really don't know what to say but thank you so much for everything you kept me on the right path. You kept me in line. I loved being your eyes when you couldn't see. I loved playing phase 10 with you. I loved playing farkle with you. I loved the calls I would get from you just to make sure I was okay. I loved our long talks. I loved making cakes and cookies in my easy bake oven with you. You had a huge impact on me and my moms life. I'm so happy that you are with the lord and I can't wait till the day that I get to join you in heaven and see you again. I love you so much and you will always have a special place in my heart.

You will never be forgotten Mom. We love you with all our heart and cannot imagine this world without you. You lived your life praising the Lord and helping people. You taught your children the meaning of "Family" and everyone who met you wanted to be part of your family because they felt loved and accepted without judgement. Your compassion for people went beyond words because you always put those words into action. Some of us pass through this life leaving a "pebble" ripple effect upon this world... You, dearest mother, left a "Boulder" ripple effect upon this world. We know you are in a better place now, but we will keep you here in our hearts and memories. Love you Mom.

Growing up, you were the one adult in my life that I always knew would be there for me. You were my aunt, but I loved you like you were my mom. The thought of never talking to you or seeing you again brings tears to my eyes, but the beautiful memories I have of you, eases the ache in my heart and brings a smile to my face. I love you and I am so blessed to have had you in my life. Suzy

She was one amazing woman! I can always hear her saying "Hi Nikki, how are you feeling sweetheart?" Always worried about everyone else. I love you Grandma Rutter and I'm so happy you got your wish.
Love, your great granddaughter, Nikki

Grandma you taught me more about the meaning of life than anyone. You showed me that to be rich doesn't mean to have all the money in the world but the love of family and friends. You loved like no one else and you were always willing to help someone out. You taught me what a true servant of God is and how to love like Jesus. I'll always remember I would come down from my dad's just to ask you a question and I wouldn't leave for 3 hours because you and I would just talk about life. I'll miss our long talks and watching baseball and wrestling with you. I love you grandma you will always have a special place in my heart. I know you are always with me.

Love you Grandma. I should have spent more time with you. I have nothing but respect and love for how you lived your life as an excellent Christian example for all of us. Hope you're enjoying the family up there. Tell them all that I love them. We will miss you dearly. See you again someday. Your Grandson Michael.

Maxine what an inspiration she was to so many, the countless people she aided, the kids she loved surrogate mother and grandmother to so many kids who went through the Granite City Doors. Her legacy will last more than a lifetime.

Momma, it's so hard to believe that you're gone. I miss you so much, but am so very happy the Lord took you home, as you wished, without laying in pain for weeks. Heaven is brighter today and I know in my heart you were greeted with open arms from everyone who has gone before you. You will be missed greatly on earth by all those that loved you for the sweet, caring woman you were. Watch over us until we meet again!!
I love you momma!

I will miss you forever! You were our rock. You taught us how to love and I will always be grateful for that. I still can't believe I won't hear your voice again here on earth. Your life is such a testimony to us all! Some people may have thought you nagged at them. To those people, I say feel blessed! Mom only nagged when she loved you, or loved something so much( i.e The Salvation Army) that she wanted only the best for them! Mom, you were easily the greatest, most loving, kind hearted giving woman I have ever known. I will continue to strive to be like you! I cannot think of a better example to follow. I love you mom!

Missing her like crazy this morning. I would be getting up just about the time she was getting ready to move to her bed. We always said "I love you" to each other.
