"Nda Mark" as we fondly called him growing up , is a man I always admired from my age distance. He had an amiable personality that commanded instant respect. Besides usually greeting him properly where ever I saw him I had just one close meeting with him in 2001. He sent a message that he wanted to come and see me and I responded by rather going to see him. The knowledge I gained from that meeting has been rewarding to me till date. Most importantly I am very happy that I fulfilled the only request he made of me that day.
Adieu Sir !
May Your Gentle Soul Rest in Perfect Peace.

Adieu to a man of uncommon faith- An eternal optimist.
Daddy, I never imagined a day like this will come. That we would bid you farewell as you depart this side of eternity. Cast not your talent to the dust; you wrote to me once and again. A man of few words whose deeds, stance on issues and values were so eloquent. God lifts up the poor out of the dust and dung hill and sets him up amongst princes you will sound out of the scriptures. You thought us the dignity of hard work and uprightness . I never saw you despair or forlorn-not once. Your uncommon faith and positive outlook to life I will forever admire in awe. Amiable and easy to get along with , you were a perfect definition of what it means to be a gentleman. I never saw you tell a lie. You lived on auto forgiveness and had zero capacity for hate or malice and never rememered an offense nor the offender. A man who in simple and quiet manner told the truth at all times and in all situations irrespective of whose ox is gored. A man blessed with the spirit of wisdom and endowed with a photographic memory who could recount events and reel out names of places and people with astonishing detail irrespective of the length of years. A man who detests been a bother or concern to anyone and did not want anyone to be inconvenienced on his behalf. Even as you lay on death bed you kept a positive spirit; never flinching, never disturbed but always encouraging everyone around. I love you Daddy and salute and stand in awe of your uncommon courage and genial spirit that though peaceful was ever unbeaten, unbroken and unbowed. As you take your place amongst the sea of heavenly hosts on those pearly and heavenly grandstands sandwiched by a great cloud of witnesses urging us on, permit that I bid you farewell with the words of W.B Yeats on where man's glory begins and ends. Daddy, we rejoice that you are safely tucked in now with God's loving arms around you, for our glory dad was that we had you as our father and such a friend. We ll see you again at the feet of our Lord Jesus. Accept my highly esteemed tributes. Adieu !!

TRIBUTE TO MY DEAR FATHER
Daddy, you may have left us physically but the impact you made on me are deep prints on sands of my life. Your words resonates hope, possibilities and confidence in my formative years, till your last moments on earth
A confidence that transcends visible realities, filled with faith that propelled I and my siblings to secondary and tertiary institutions against all odds. I still remember telling Dad that I would like to be an engineer as little boy. In your characteristic manner you assured me that the sky is no limit to our plans in life. You assured us and ensured that we were all in very good schools at the time, despite the toll this sacrifice took on you and Mum.
Though this was no mean task but God helped you to walk the talk, especially seeing to our tertiary studies at a very financially challenging period; you kept faith to see I and all my siblings through school.
We are really blessed to have you as a father, a true guide and mentor. We learnt humility, you taught us love, and countless godly virtues .Your married life with Mum is a practical family school and a great example of a Christian marriage to which we strive to emulate.
Daddy, we never saw you sick from the time we were young till just a short while before your demise, not once did you visit the hospital for any medical support, God Himself kept you. To HIM alone is all glory! However even in your very frail state, your attitude of strength, faith and hope exhumed in your words of courage and positivity that contradicts the physical reality. At home and hospital you stoutly affirmed to us ‘NOTHING MEEKA’ a word of assurance and hope to us that “NOTHING WILL HAPPEN”. Rightly so, nothing happened but a smooth transition of a blessed man unto eternal glory, where a crown of glory is awaiting.
In the words of Paul you fought a good fight, you finished your course – just a few weeks to your exit you reaffirmed your love to your Maker, as you rededicated your life to Christ when we prayed together. What a great Joy! This was our last meeting, and with full assurance of faith we are excited that you REST in eternity with GOD ALMIGTHY.
We love you Dad and will miss you greatly, but God loves you more.
Rest in Peace

Daddy was a father to me and not just a father-in-law. He made me feel like his own daughter. My father passed on when I was very young, so dad became that father figure and taught me a lot. While I was studying in Nigeria, daddy always made sure that he treated me with nkwobi and palm wine when I was on break from school.
I was intrigued by your wealth of knowledge and you were never shy of sharing or impacting your knowledge. You were kind, thoughtful and selfless. Thank you for being a loving father and for your words of encouragement and advice.
Thank you for looking after our children whenever you visited us and thanks for raising your 7 sons to be the God fearing and true gentlemen they are today. I will miss our banter and singing hymns, especially hymn 170, which you sang with your baritone voice. We are eternally grateful to God for the impactful life you lived and I will cherish the fond memories. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord till we meet to part no more. You will be missed dearly.

Iheanyi E Egbukole (Son)
Words failed me in my several attempts to write this tribute because I cannot believe that you are no longer with us. It is hard to accept that you are no longer going to pick up your phone and fondly enquire about my welfare and that of my family. My consolation is that you gave your life to Christ, walked with Him and now in His abode.

Daddy you were a loving father, my role model, my mentor, legend and an incurable optimist. You meant a lot to me. You taught me the most valuable things in life which I would hold dearly.

You loved God and laid the right foundation for us to follow. You ensured we always prayed together as a family and encouraged us to praise and serve God as you did.

The quality of a father can be seen in the children they raised. You believed that spiritual, moral and academic training are the most important assets any parent(s) could give their children. The aspiration of raising educated children came at a very costly price but you were relentless despite teacher’s meagre salary, you sent us to some of the best schools.

I remember when we (my brothers and I) were children, you said when your time is up and you lie in state you would like to be surrounded by all seven of us who would then be all graduates, this is a prophesy that has come to pass, as we celebrate your life. Daddy we cannot thank you enough for the love and sacrifices.

Thank you for being the best dad anyone can wish for.  I could call you at any time and you always had a listening ear and will provide the right guidance. Life is going to be different without you, but I am grateful I got to call you my dad.

We are grateful to God for your life, you were the only surviving child but God multiplied you by blessing you with seven sons, we thank God that you lived a fulfilled healthy life and has gone to be with God at a good age.

You were knowledgeable and a great historian. We enjoyed your various stories such as the history of Egbukole family, Egbu and ndi Igbo that you shared with us. Even though you are no longer physically with us, you live on in our memories and you will be cherished forever.
Adieu my loving father, we will meet again to part no more in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Tribute to my inestimable father-in-law...

indeed, death is inevitable. I was shocked immdiately my hubby called me on that faithful morning, informing me you're gone. Seriously I couldn't believe it until I visited. Your love was an indication and part of my overall marital happiness. I didn't know you were too fond of me until my children and I spent some time with you during covid 19 last year precisely. You poured your heart to all your children. You told my hubby how happy you were to have me as a daughter-in-law. Chia!!! Death, why did you do this to me when I needed him most? I miss your jokes, stories and laughter. As a father-in-law and a father figure, your absence left a deep wound in my heart. It is sad to feel that you are no more with us here on earth, but your love and peaceful memories are still our guide. Your perpetual love will continue to bind us together as a family. I strongly believe we will rejoice with you on that resurrection morning when God will call us home.
Continue to rest in the bosom of the most high, till we meet to part no more.

Love leaves a memory no one can steal, but death leaves a memory no one can heal.

I remember that faithful day i was at the hospital with you and my mum ,My brothers and i was discussing over the phone planning for your 90th birthday before i noticed you were breathing so fast i called the attention of the Doctor but death came and to took you away before my eyes.i watched you die before my very eyes yet i couldn't help.
It’s sad to know that my dad is no more, but again it is a loving memory for me when I think about the life of my dad & all he did for me the time we spent together. The good memories remains with me forever, knowing the ability impacted by my dad into my life. All the good things that he taught me …. An intelligent and intellectual man full of joke’s, always stresses the importance of education .
I don’t know where to begin, all I keep thinking is how I wish I had that “one more” opportunity to see you daddy, to hear your voice and to see you smile or even crack a joke. You were everything to me, you did everything for us all. …. .I love you dad, you were my hero… The legacy you left us is what made me what I am today and keeps me progressing in life… You lived for others, always helping others. I’ll do my best to carry on in your footsteps. I am happy that I’m one of your children . Your memory will not die in me… Thinking about the time spent together do bring smile to my face and I remember your smile also. Dad you are in my heart, and you are here in spirit even as I’m typing now.. I will always love you and miss you dad… Continue to Rest in peace dad. Adieu!!

Daddy, I heard your voice in the morning of March 7th 2021, you told me you were very okay, later that day I received the shocking news. But pondering about the life you lived, I realised the reason you said those words to me. Daddy You completed your assignment here on earth, you fulfilled the purpose of your birth, and left no stone unturned. The memory of the times we shared will always be in my heart. I will miss your stories, your smiles and your lively presence. You always told me that you're never alone. No doubt you are with your maker now, The Almighty, your God whom you served. I wish you had not died at all. It's just so hard for me to believe that you are gone. I miss you so very much that I wish I had so much time with you while you were still alive but it's just too late because you are already gone far away from earth to heaven. You did good to everybody you met.

It was a shock to me when my mom told me that you were gone and I cried so much and wished you rose up from the dead. You have been so much in my heart. I remember the last summer holiday I spent with you and grandma at the beach and I will never ever forget that or you either.

May you continue to rest in heaven peacefully.

The memory of the just is blessed indeed, because you will always be remembered fondly.
You were a definition of grace, love and class. Your warm reception from the start, the way you loved your grandchildren, your charisma: i got used to them but never took for granted.
Your life was an evidence of God's love and how much God could bless a man if he walked uprightly before him.
You lived a long and fulfilled life but it doesn't make your transition hurt any less because you are absolutely irreplaceable.

MY GENTLE AND LOVING DAD.

Even though death is inevitable and life is transient, i wish you had lived longer.

My Dad's life was a living testament of peace, contentment, gratitude and sacrifice. I will not forget the sacrifices you made to train Seven graduates in retirement nor the courage you displayed in the face of daunting challenges.

Today I celebrate your life of humility, gentleness and peace. You taught great lessons in simple ways. you taught us honesty, humility, selflessness and contentment. We will surely miss your wise counsel. It takes a gentleman to raise a gentleman, we learnt from the best in the pack.

My Dad remained positive to the end, even in frailty, you were full of hope and courage, assuring us each time we called '' I am fine, nothing mega''.

We will miss your calls, your smiles and reassurances. our brotherly meetings, your prayers for us. Your marriage was a model for us. Your commitment was legendary. Your devotion to family was infectious.

Dad as we bid you farewell today, your legacies, footprints and ideals speaks loud in your 'Seven Stars'.

I salute your courage, your doggedness, sincerity of purpose. You came, you saw, you won!

Rest on Dad! we sure miss you.

Daddy, how I wish this day never came; when your gentle voice will no more be heard on this side of eternity, when your wise and godly counsels are no more repeated in the ears of the willing listener, when your friendly touch will not be felt by the multitude you have loved anymore.

My loving father, gentle and courageous, selfless and kind. My Passionate teacher; your impact and legacy of fairness, kindness, courage, contentment with gratitude, integrity, family commitment, orderliness , love for God and men lives on. We cannot thank God enough for a good father like you.

My wife (and your gist mate, who spoke with you some hours before you breathed the last) and your grandchildren Charisa, Lysa, David and Deborah have not ceased to miss you. You will forever be in our hearts dad.

Our consolation is that you have fought a good fight of Faith and finished well to merit our LORD`s crown prepared for you.

Daddy, Continue to rest eternally in Jesus Christ.

Your son,
Okechukwu
