Mrs. Maycine ``Muffin” Winston’’ Cumberlander born to the late Amos Winston, Sr. and Betty L. (Billingslea) James on December 25, 1949. in Troup County, Georgia, Maycine, peacefully, entered into rest on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Lanier Health Services, Valley, Alabama. The Lord Almighty whose in control of all, sent his angels to bring Maycine from the earth to add a little more beauty, kindness and goodness to His heavenly vineyard.

Maycine was joined in Holy Matrimony to her childhood sweetheart, the late Waymon Cee Cumberlander, Sr., for 42 loving & devoted years. Into this union four children was born.

Maycine confessed faith and hope in Christ at an early age and united with the St. John Community Baptist Church. She had a love and passion for singing; she was a member of the Gospel Choir and the Senior Choir. Other church involvements included, Director of G.L. Fannings Young Adult Choir, Nurses Guild, Gospel Choir Treasurer, General Missionary Society, Matrons and Church Florist.

“Muffin”, as she was affectionately known to many, was a loving and beautiful person that would give a helping hand to anyone that was in need. To know her was to love her. “Muffin always had a smile on her face and encouraging words for everyone, no matter how she was feeling. Maycine had a love and deep compassion for FLOWERS, her other hobbies were singing, listening to gospel music, cooking, spending time with her family, and gathering history about her family. Maycine was a product West Point 10th Street School and Lanier High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon C. Cumberlander Sr., two sisters: Linda Acres and Janice A. Harper, one brother, James Winston, her aunt, Johnnie M. Brooks and her sister-in-law, Julia C. Hoggs.

Her smiling face and loving ways will be greatly missed by those who cherished her memories: four loving and devoted children, Ms. Frederica Cumberlander Gilliam, Lagrange, GA;Letrina(Philip)Cumberlander Tucker, Lanett, AL; Waymon(Pamela)Cumberlander,Sr., Douglasville, GA; Eric(Erica)Cumberlander, Ellenwood, GA; eight loving grandchildren, one whom she reared as her own, LaShastris(Gregory)C. Carlisle, Quintasia N. Wallace,Avante’ S.Wallace, Tradonte L. Tucker, Ashley J. Cumberlander, Alicia B. Cumberlander, Ethan C. Cumberlander and Evan B. Cumberlander; four great-grandchildren that she loved dearly: Kenya S. Cameron, Kenderian D. Cameron, Z’Niya M. Floyd and Kamaria M. Carlisle; five sisters: Betty J. Winston, Lanett, AL; China Winston, Los Angeles, CA;Marcia Winston, West Point, GA;Vickie(Gregory)Love, Cleveland, OH; Sylvia Talley, West Point, GA; three brothers, Amos Winston, Jr. and Avila(Michelle)Winston,Cleveland, OH and Mark Winston, West Point, GA; two sisters-in-law, Annie C. Ward, Atlanta, GA; Annie M. Cumberlander, Columbus, OH; two brothers-in-law, Jesse L. Harper, Valley, AL and Henderson Acres, Lanett, AL; four aunts-in-law: Willie M. Strozier, Bernice Cumberlander, Columbus, OH; Annie P. McCulloh, Lanett, AL; Addie L. McCurtis, Atlanta, GA; one uncle-in-law, John L.Reid; special nieces, Donna R. Floyd, West Point, GA and Lisa M. Cumberlander, Stockbridge, GA; an array of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.
