Diane and I were best friends in high school. We were each other's maid of honor in our first marriages. I remember going to visit her after Michael was born. She was so in love with that baby. I lost contact with Diane after she and Worth moved out of state. It was years before I heard that they had divorced. I always wondered where she was, if she was happy, always remembered her on her birthday. Two, maybe three years ago, our mutual friend, Marlena, found Diane online. As soon as Marlena gave me Diane's contact information, I called her. She told me she was dealing with cancer for the second time. But she was so proud of her children and spent most of our phone call talking about them. When I next spoke with her, things were not going well health wise and then life got busy and I didn't call her for months. When the Christmas card I sent her came back, I knew she must have moved but didn't know where. I was so sad to find out she had died but consoled by the wonderful tributes I have read online. We had so many good times in high school, lots of laughing and talking, doing really crazy things which shall remain secret. Rest in peace, my friend.
