Funeral Service Monday, April 2, 2018 1 PM visitation 12 PM at The Inspiration Church, 2900 Philadelphia Drive, Dayton, Ohio 45404. Arrangements entrusted to W. E. Lusain Funeral Service.

In Muncie, Indiana on November 20, 1949 Melissa Ann Campbell was welcomed into the world by her parents James Samuel Campbell and Mable Ruby Lee. The spirit of Melissa peacefully transitioned into her next life at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton at the age of 68 on Saturday March 24, 2018.

Melissa was a graduate of Muncie Central High School. While living in Muncie she was baptized and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Melissa moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1969 and attended Sinclair Community College majoring in graphic design. She rededicated her life to Christ and became a member of The Inspiration Church.

Upon planting her roots in the city of Dayton, Melissa inherited the nickname Snowball because of her beautiful dark complexion. When Snowball walked in the room she was the life of party, room, or where ever you were in her presence. Melissa will always be remembered for her exceptional gifts of being a caring and giving person. She would give you the clothes off of her back and her last penny. She never said no and put everyone’s needs before her own. In her past time Melissa enjoyed to cook, dance, sing, draw, garden and she loved to dress. She had a real passion for fashion. Melissa was very outgoing, energetic, funny, kind hearted, loving, and very outspoken. To know her was to love her.

Melissa is preceded in transition with her mother Mable Lee, father James Campbell, and son Ronald Wilson. Cherishing her everlasting memories are her children, Le’Chelle Campbell, Allyson Youngblood, Ray Goldsmith, Johnnie (Carlynn) Watson, Willena McCallum, Willie Campbell, and India Campbell. 30 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Special granddaughter Bre’Naja McCallum and special son De’Andre Philpot. Brothers Samuel Campbell, James Campbell, and Richard Campbell. Hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, special grandkids, and friends.
