Merle Todd Byrd, 56, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019. He was born June 23, 1963 to the late George Merle Byrd and Helen Jeanette (Salmon) Byrd. He was an avid Tar Heel Fan and loved cruising on his Harley Davidson. He could not drive without blasting rock music down the highway for all to hear and show the world what it meant to be “Stylin’ and Profilin’ with Windows Rolled Down and Shoelaces Tied.” Todd was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Hampton Inn located at 405 Hinton Oaks Blvd, Knightdale, NC, 27545.

Surviving: daughter, Brooke Byrd Young (and husband, Robert Young) of Raleigh; daughter, Kylie Byrd; son, Sontellio Byrd Pulley Sr. of Wake Forest; grandchildren: Desiree Jade, Haylee Jenette and Sontellio Todd Byrd-Pulley Jr.; and sister, Janet Byrd (and fiancé, Chris Zimmerman) of Knightdale.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, George Merle Byrd, on May 31, 2002 and most recently by his mother, Helen Jeanette (Salmon) Byrd, on November 29, 2018.
