Happy Birthday. You are with me everyday. I often wonder what would be your successes, your challenges. Whatever they would have been, I know you would have made me proud, because that is who you where. This is always the hardest week for me with your birth and passing. I miss you. Love Dad. 

Hey Michael- It literally took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes to come to the realization that you've been gone 11 years. You were taken way too soon and it saddens me that we all don't have the ability to see the life that you would have made for yourself. You were such a kind and beautiful soul, and I know you would have accomplished nothing but greatness- as you did in your 16 years on this earth. I hope this note finds you looking down on us. And I hope you know that I had so much love in my heart for you and still think of you often. This time of year you are always on my mind...five years have come and gone but you are still in so many of our memories and thoughts. My memories are of you as such a caring kid in middle school! We miss you but know you are at peace and pain free. Be our angel!

I never had the chance to meet Michael. However, I did get to witness the love his mother had (and still does have) for him through our grief support group. I keep a picture of MIchael by my desk and think of him often.

Michael was an outstanding young man. My uncle, Mike Mason and myself both had the chance to coach him in youth basketball. He not only was a great basketball player, but more he was a good friend to the boys on the team. If someone was struggling that day, he was always the one to help pick them back up! We both loved coaching him because of his work ethic, and at the same time were grateful he was a part of our team. He was a teammate, a friend, and a great kid both on and off the court, and we will forever remember his smile, his love for sports, and most of all his warm heart.
