Our family knew Mike from Dogtopia. He would always greet us with a huge warm smile. He made us feel like our dog was truly special and well cared for under his watch. We will miss him and are so sorry to hear of your loss.

I will always remember Michael as a sweet and kind child from the moment I met him. Each time I saw him at family gatherings, it was clear the closeness he felt to his family, especially his siblings - they truly had a connection that is rare. Michael was always sweet and polite, especially to our children. At each family gathering, especially as a teenager, he put up with my young children, which they remember to this day. My daughter remembers chasing him around and trying to push him into the pool which he playfully obliged to and my son recalls playing video games where Michael let him win. Thank you Michael for creating these happy memories for us and for so many others you knew.

We visited with Mike at family get-togethers and his presence always radiated true warmth. He had a mischievous smile and a playfulness that we loved. He was genuine and inclusive, playing with and making my kids laugh, though they were younger. I’ll never forget summertime visits by the pool, with squirt guns. He entertained and made people laugh. He gave of himself, was genuine, and thus bestowed the gift of himself on others. He was a rare find in this world. I pray that Mike will have the peace he truly deserves. We will forever miss his presence in our lives but his memory will live on.

Just learned of Mike's passing - he was always so helpful and friendly when my boy Callahan wanted to come to see his buddy Doc at Dogtopia. He always took care of my boy (and me) especially as we were going through things in our family.

So sorry - and prayers for all of his family, friends, and colleagues.

Mikey is indelible. He will always be a part of who I am, and who our family is. His loyalty and authenticity - with no ounce of judgment - will always be something I strive for. He and Papa have that in common! Having him as my alliance-buddy will be my favorite memory of him....that, and his love and admiration of The Rock. "He Shimmers!"  I love you and miss you Mikey, and thank you for the impact you've made on all our lives.

Mike left the world a better place. I was honored to know him and to share his humor. As his uncle, we spent a lot of time together when he was young. He and my son were great friends. I admired his mischievous good nature. I was honored that he “let me in” on his pranks. His smile lit up the world. He proved himself to be a person of respect; a man who didn’t judge. I dearly miss him.

Bruce, Nancy, David and Emily
I have such fond memories of our kids growing up on Weybridge and the many hours of hockey on our driveways that Jason, David, Mike and Ryan played together. Many times Bruce would join them as well! Even after we both moved to new neighborhoods the friendships continued. The entire Sweet family sends our love to all of you as you go through this difficult time together. We will always remember Mike and that wonderful smile he always had on his face.

"When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind." Unknown

Mike was all heart — loving, caring, and a smile that just lit up his face....and made us all so happy!

Our son Neel, met Mike, at Hickory Grove and our family knew him from then on through Lahser High School. We fondly remember and treasure the many visits and sleepovers at our home — always filled with laughter, fun, jokes and yes! loud singing! Mike’s legacy is the joy he brought into our lives, his warm and kind personality. The fun memories and moments that we shared will always be treasured.

Dears Bruce, Nancy, David, and Emily -- you are all in our prayers. We have always loved Mike very much and he will always be in our hearts.

Much love

Mr. & Mrs. Pearce, David & Emily,

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have many memories of growing up on Weybridge with your family. Mikey always always always had a smile on his face that lit up the room when he walked in. I can hear his laugh and see that smile still years later. Sending you love.

I taught art at EHMS to Michael, Emily and Dave. I have fond memories of all of them. Each was full of joy, warmth and playfulness. As I look through the posted pictures, I can see the love that ripples out from his short life. Michael's beautiful energy will reverberate on in all of those he touched. Andrea McCoy

Mike was my brother growing up. He always knew how to make others smile, and had the goofiest, warmest, and most genuine personality. Some of my best memories are with him by my side...whether at his house swimming or messing with Emily and Dave (sorry!), football lineman practices, or trips with his family. A piece of him will forever live on in myself and all the others lucky enough to have known him. So sorry to the Pearce family for your (and our) loss

Mikey was the little brother I never had. Growing up with his older brother Dave since elementary school, I got to know Mike very well over the years. He was one of the most genuine, caring, and compassionate people I have ever met. I have distinct memories of playing poker in the playhouse in their home on Squirrel, where Mike was always the life of the party. Looking back I don’t really think Mike even cared about winning in poker, he just wanted to be involved with older brother Dave and his friends. He had a certain sense of humor where I could barely look at him without laughing, even before he could make a joke. I’ll forever cherish the times we spent together and hope that I can be half as good of a person as Mikey was. Love you buddy.

Mike will always live in my mind as the loving, pesky older brother. Some of my favorite memories as a child involved going over to Emily's house to play in the pool. These days were never complete until Mike came along and tossed us both in the pool and then inevitably started a crab apple fight. Em and I would be hiding behind our pool raft as a shield and laughing so hard we cried, meanwhile Mike continuing to toss crab apples our direction.

Even through the pranks, you could see how much Mike loved Em. He was always such a deeply caring older brother to her, playing Mario Kart for hours, and always being there for her. He always brought a huge smile to our faces and he will be greatly missed.

Next time a crab apple falls off a tree, I'll know you're there saying hello

Rest in peace Mike

My love and thoughts are with all of you, Em, Nancy, Bruce and David

I knew Michael through his mom and dad. Bruce and I have been friends since we were in elementary school. I watched Michael grow from a distance; whenever I got together with Bruce over the years, we’d share stories about our families and laugh like we were kids again. I always think of Michael as a gentle soul who had a heart as big as his smile. I always looked forward to seeing him, knowing I’d get a laugh from him that would brighten what might have been a lousy day. He will be missed, and I will keep all of the family in my prayers.

Mike lived two houses behind me. I will never forget walking up and down the big hill behind his house to always hang out with him. We would always sit on the bus together and just to spend a little more time with him I'd always get off at his stop and walk home. When Mike got his driver license he would always make sure I had a ride home. I will never forget all the memories we had and all the time we spent together. He would always give me the best "boy advice" when I was having issues with boyfriends or when I was away for college he would always made it a point to text me asking to get together. His smile was contagious and his advice will forever be missed!

I am so deeply saddened to hear of Mike's passing. He and my son Steve were in school together since Kindergarten days. I watched Mike grow into such a fine young man while at Lahser High School. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you....Nancy, Bruce, David and Emily and families.
And yes, Mike will forever be in our hearts!

This is not a goodbye, this is a thank you. Thank you for coming into my life and giving me joy & love. Joy when you walked into the room with your wonderful warm smile & sweet laugh. A thank you for showing and sharing your love so deeply. The warmth & love felt in your hugs and displayed as you cared for family & friends. Perhaps they are not the stars
But rather
Openings in heaven
Where the Love of our lost ones pour down
Through and
Shines upon us
To let us know
They are happy.

Caring for others at very early age

April 1, 2021
One day when Mike was almost 2, big brother Dave had a minor injury.  While Nancy tended to Dave,  Mike touched my heart with his strength, bravery and compassion.   I watched him with his determination and great effort  drag a large heavy kitchen chair to the refrigerator.  After he had positioned the heavy chair, he climbed up on it and pulled himself up to the very high handle of the freezer.  As he dangled from the edge of the open freezer door he confidently reached in and snatched an ice cube.  He immediately dropped to the floor and rushed to Dave.  Where he then said, "Here Dabe, dis make it better".   Forever thinking of others, loving and supporting all along the way, this is Mike. Love you forever my Mikey Pikey Man!
