Man oh man...I miss you. Just thinking about the kids and how fast times can change. You worked harder than anyone I worked with and did more to have a meaningful change in your life. I often reflect on our journey and can safely say I will never forget you. Hopefully your kids get some insight into the man you were and how much you cared. Maybe some stories of the before and after and insights into why you changed.  One day when the time is right I will sit down with them and share some of your thoughts you shared in your final months. In short I miss you and will always be great fun for your friendship.

Thinking of you Joe as I enter a new year in my life and realize how truly grateful I am that I met you and had you as my friend! You understood me when I felt no one else did, you helped me to find my self-worth and taught me to laugh at myself. Thank you for your friendship and your gift of humour that carried me when I was all out of laughs! I love you Joe !

Hey Joe,
Missing you and your chatter. Its always a sad moment when I think of you and the kids. I am sure both your kids will know you loved them with all of your heart and wanted nothing but the best for them. They were your driving force and you changed your world to make theirs a better place. Rest in peace- miss you Orion A.

Michael "Joe" Acker was my first sponsor and a dear friend to me. Joe taught me one of the most important lessons in life, to laugh at myself again and not take myself so seriously. I am forever indebted to you Joe your sharp wit and wonderful sense of humour will be dearly missed. My condolences to your family, most of all your two boys that you loved so dearly. Blair C. Kieley
