His Life
January 8, 2013

Michael Alford (Mike) Jones, 43, a resident of West Point, Georgia, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013. He was a native of Montgomery, Alabama, a graduate of Hooper Academy, alumnus of Troy University, a member of West Point Presbyterian Church, and a life-long Auburn Tiger fan.  Mike lived life to the fullest.  His friends were his most important asset.  He loved the outdoors, especially the time he, LaChelle, and friends spent at the beach, where he felt closest to God.  In addition to being a singer in his church choir, he brought many smiles to his friends as he sang karaoke.  He loved his garden, especially his cultivation of his favorite flower, the hydrangea.  It has been said, that to see God smile, just look at a beautiful flower.  Mike saw God smile more than most of us.  When we look into the sky at night, we will now see one less star, but God has one more great voice.

He is survived by his best friend of 24 years and his wife of 13 years, LaChelle White Jones and son Jackson Wesley (Jack) Jones;  parents Ed H. Jones, III and Betty Hall Jones of Montgomery, AL;  brother Bart Jones (Kelly) of  Lawrenceville, GA; sister Teresa Jones Hink (Jeff) of Memphis, TN; nephew Christopher Donald Jones and niece Tyler Elizabeth Jones of Lawrenceville, GA; cousins Donald Hall, III and Todd Hall of Montgomery, AL; father-in-law and mother-in-law Tony and Phyllis White of West Point, GA;  sisters-in-law Jacque White Ely (Steve) of Atlanta, GA and Penny White Miller (Scott) of Birmingham, AL;  nieces and nephews Blair Grant, Garret Ely, Mason Ely, Tommy McGowan, John Michael McGowan, Mackenzie McGowan; and great niece and nephew Madison LeRoy and Easton Marsala.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Donald and Isabelle (Gran) Hall and Ed Jr. and Margaret (Marnie) Jones.
