Celebration of Life will be at Bethel Baptist Church on June 12th @ 2pm in Fellowship Hall
(606 S Dekalb St, Shelby, NC 28150)

This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Michael. Leaving behind a legacy of love and unbroken friendship, he truly will be missed by so many. Coming from a long line of plumbers, he was well known with in his community. After moving to Florida he never lost touch and kept on being the fun loving man we all knew. His heart was born in the North Carolina but his soul traveled though everyone he came in contact with. Feel free to add photos and stories of Mike to help us share the memories and moment of joy in his life.

Debbie, Crystal and Cliffy, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Mike as a very gentle giant who was always available to help wherever he could. He was an incredible man.

The picture tribute is awesome. Thank you for sharing them.

You are all in my heart, thoughts and prayers. May God Hold you all in His Arms during this very difficult time.

Love, Kathy Klinger, Spokane Valley, WA.

Mike, I am truly sorry to hear of your passing. When I think of you, I think of your huge smile && big heart the most. Most of my childhood was spent in 4H with you, Debbie && Crystal at the center of it all. We were all together A LOT && despite your house being full of kids most of the time, you never seemed a bit bothered by it at all. You were such a kind soul. You and Debbie worked so hard handling your plumbing business, raising Crissy and somehow 4H, the horses, the 4H animals, the fairs, craft shows, parades and then you started running the store and somehow you still had a headful of hair. I am heartbroken, but I hope you are at peace where you are. We will all miss you, Big Mike. Thank you for being a huge influence in my life at such an early age and helping to round all of us young kiddos into who we are now. I will never forget you. Rest Easy, Mike.
As for Debbie & Crystal, you two were also the root of who I am today. When I think back to some of my favorite times, I think of you and 4H - we had some really great times. The years sure have flown by. I think of you often. I love you all and I miss you very much. My thoughts are with you. I'm so sorry for your loss. Love ~ Gretta.

We all grew up in neighborhood together.
West Circle, East Circle, Brookside and Grice St. Everybody knew everyone. We all played together, rode bikes, played ball. Kick the can , went to School together and everyone around there rode in Mrs Helms Taxi to get to school before we had driver licenses. We all would ventured down to the Rock Quarry to try and climb that rock wall. It’s a wonder we didn’t get killed. LOL! Mike was always so nice. As we got older we all grew apart and went our separate ways. Prayers for family.

Mike you will be truly missed, but maybe not for long.I hope one day Lindy and I will get to take that fishing trip we talked about and all of us catch our limit. I remember when days were long and we never got tired, but now days are short and we're tired all the time. Things will be different when we cross that big river and join our lord on the other side.

The last 39 years have been unpredictable, chaotic and blessed. It's all Lisa Jernigan 's fault. Thank you my friend for introducing me to my soul mate. I'll love you forever for that.
