My dad was a big character in life abit of a del boy prankster with a heart of gold.

He grew up in broxtowe Nottingham  son of Dennis and sal he had 5 brothers to whom he was the second eldest. (My poor mama bet she pulled her hair at times hahaha. I heard my dad was a bit of a sod in his early days but I guess he grew up abit when me and my brother michael was born i say abit as he was a big kid at heart full of life at one of my bday parties he sellotaped all the kids together haha and he loved xmas !! His main occupation was demolition and in his later yrs driving the black Knight lol(he named his lorry). Not too good at diy our dad it was left to our mum but he always tried. I have fond memories growing up my dad always a hard working man a fair loving husband he loved our mum so much. He was a traditional family man and I feel we were raised  well I know he was proud of me and Mike!

Sadly January 2009 my dad was diagnosed with testicular cancer I was with him when they told him it had spread and he had a 50/50 chance at beating it dad took it all on the chin 2 days later on with the chemo. Then a major op then every chemo,trial chemo offered as August that year was told it was terminal. I was always proud of my dad but especially through his fight. My only wish now looking back is I wish he got to enjoy his precious time with his family and friends as he was so Ill from the chemo and infections that he spent alot of his time too poorly or in hospital the chemo bought him time but not quality time ,but I know my dad wouldn't stop chemo because to him that would be him quitting admitting defeat and he clinged to that glimmer of hope that cure so bad I admire his strength he was fighter to all of us !!
