Nnamdi, I know you’re looking down in complete serenity. I just wanted to say that your legacy is intact and your reputation, golden. Your generosity was boundless and you had an unmatched capacity and willingness to do good – all the tributes on this page are a testament to that. For that and your other admirable qualities, in God’s final analysis of your life, you get a score of ‘A++’. As your Brother-in-Law, I will see to it that the kids set aside a special place in their hearts for 'Uncle Nnamdi', that’s my promise.

Living life they say, is like a market place, everyone comes to trade in one thing or the other, and returns home after all is done. Dear Big cousin, you came in due season, added value to lives, brought joys to the hearts of family, friends, and those you barely knew. Alas! you did your bit and had to leave when your time came. Sleep on in your deserved rest, safe and secure at the saviour's breast, for indeed earth's loss is heaven's gain.

There is a saying that part of being human is that at a point in time we lose some of our beloved ones. It hurts when this happens and I am hurting as I write this TRIBUTE to my nephew Nnamdi. The Lord has called him home and we cannot question HIS WAYS. TO HIM BE THE GLORY
I was among the very few people who saw him a few days after his birth as I was staying with his parents then. I remember Nnamdi as that highly
intelligent little boy with an inquisitive personality. He loved books and I once showed him the picture of a fish called, for short, Humuhumu (the national fish of Hawaii) in an encyclopedia. Nnamdi never forgot. On subsequent visits to my sister ,Nnamdi's mother,he would take me straight to the book shelf point to the encyclopedia and calls out Humuhumu. We will both look at and admire the picture together. I learnt later that he referred to me as Aunty Humuhumu!
As an adult Nnamdi turned out to be a gentle, unflappable, level headed gentleman who had the wisdom of an older man and sound judgment.
It is not how long we live but how well. Nnamdi lived well and he touched many people positively ,starting with some of my children. He will be sorely missed.
My condolences to his wife Mary, his mother, my sister D,, his siblings Ngozi, Chiedu, Nkeiru and his other relatives.
Please stay strong for God is your strength. IT IS WELL. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

Big Nnamdi, can't believe you're gone. When I think back you were always this larger than life personality, ever present but never overbearing. You will be sorely missed by all who love you but our joy is that now you are at peace and walk with the angels in heaven.
I pray that God grants the family the grace and fortitude to bear this great lord's.
Rest well big cuz.

Dear Nnamdi,

You welcomed me into the family with gentle, kindly words and you were always pleasant to be around. Your passing was a huge shock to me but I know it was not a shock to God who prepared you so lovingly - O Precious in His eyes is the death of His faithful! You spent the last few years of your life drawing closer to God, seeking his face and serving him. And best of all, you died in Christ who is the Resurrection and the Life. We are thus comforted that this separation is only temporary... we will meet at Christ's feet. Pray for us that we also may remain steadfast till the end, and may your soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in perfect peace. Amen.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His servant.psalm 116:15
God's people are precious in His eyes both living and dying, for whether they live, they live unto the Lord, or whether they die, they die unto the Lord.
The news of your departure still remains a mystery to me but we cannot question God. Death in the body of christ is not a termination but a transition unto glory. We know you have gone to be with the Lord.
Mr Micheal Nnamdi Agbakoba of blessed memory, was a father, reliable friend, a good and faithful servant of christ, a dedicated and trustworthy worker in God's vineyard, a loyal and honest to a fault person I have ever met.
He was the accountant of mfm City of Refuge church for many years and I am proud to say this as the resident Pastor of the church that we never have any problem with church money. He's always very punctual and does not come late to church and gives generously for the propagation of the gospel. " His good and faithful service to the Lord shall be rewarded"
I use this platform to comfort the wife, mother, siblings, the entire family and friends and every members of mfm City of Refuge church. The good Lord will keep you strong and the joy of the Lord will continue to be your strength.
Mr Micheal Nnamdi Agbakoba fought a good fight, he finished the race and has kept the faith. We shall meet and never to part again at the bossom of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

This is a very painful exit, I have been thinking about you all week since the news of your passing was broken to me. Even though I know you are well and alive with all the saints that have gone home to be with the Lord, that's great and brings consolation to the pain of losing you early. I must say we miss you daily, you're such a sweet honest and forthright person and we miss your fellowship here but for the grace of God we said be at peace and by his grace we shall meet on that beautiful shore where there is no pain or sorrow.
God will give mom and siblings strength, all of us to bear this as keep fighting the good fight of faith.

It's taken me a while to write this because I did not know how or where to start. My cousin, Big Nnamdi (my younger brother was Small Nnamdi) was my first object of hero worship and I hung around him and his sister, Ngozi, any chance I could. He was just a few years older than I, but he looked and acted decades older. Growing up, I was what could be charitably described as an irrepressible tomboy, while he was always (well, mostly always) calm and unflappable. I tried unsuccessfully to imitate him because he never seemed to get into trouble in spite of some the pranks he pulled, and I did. Frequently.

Both of us loved to read, and he would give me books that he thought I would enjoy. We also had this game where we would try and one-up each other with the most ridiculous words we could find in that big Oxford dictionary in the house. The most memorable exchange was me saying that he was doing a "boondoggle" and he responding that I was talking "hornswoggle." I was under 7 or 8 years old at the time. This memory never fails to make me smile.

When I transferred to FGC Lagos, he was just about to leave, and hanging out was really not an option. However, he found time to help me understand mathematics and how to break down and solve maths problems. I know that he earned mega points with Jesus just for this as he never became annoyed or impatient with me as he had to explain over and over and over again.

We lost touch when he moved to the US, but thanks to Facebook and Whatsapp, we talked, albeit infrequently, and it struck me that he was the same sensible, funny, kind person that I knew and loved as a child. It is one of my few regrets that I never told him how much of an impact on me, how much I looked up to him, and what an awesome, all-round great guy he was.

I'm sure St. Peter's schedule has seriously opened up as Big Nnamdi has taken over the heavenly books and has become best buds with his namesake, the archangel Michael.

To those who loved him the most; his mom, his siblings and his wife, the Lord is your strength. He will give you comfort in this time and keep you all under His wing. Rest in perfect peace, coz.

his Life
Born in Lagos-Nigeria, two years before the country's civil war, Michael was often described as a tornado. He would climb every tree, and dive under every bed. It was almost impossible to keep up with all that energy!

As he grew older, he assumed a quieter, deeply reflective persona. He was clearly the most intelligent of all four siblings - a master of mathematics, a connoisseur of both spoken and written word, and had a spot-on eye for the creatives. Most important of all, he was very protective of his family and close friends, and his work ethic was exemplary.

Michael travelled the world, visiting several continents and engaging with people of different cultures. He finally settled in Cincinnati (Ohio), where he started off as a student, and subsequently forged deep family roots in the Mount Healthy community. Nnamdi worked at the IRS for 20 meritorious years! He will always be remembered as trustworthy, kind, straightforward, loyal, funny and loving.

A life so beautiful deserves special celebration. You are invited to help us honour the life of Michael Nnamdi Agbakoba. We encourage you to replace any sadness you may be feeling with your stories, your laughter, and your happiness - avidly sharing your most joyful memories of a life that was lived to the fullest.
