His Life

Michael Taddeo, Jr., here are your Grandchildren!

February 13, 2011

This introductory chapter was written on Sunday, February 13, 2011.

One thing I knew from early in our relationship, was that Michael loved children. He was a wonderful father and he would have made a terrific grandfather.  This story is being written with our grandchildren in mind: Evalyn, Ruthie, Jeremiah, Gabriel and Micah.

Mike would have loved each grandchild individually and the whole bunch collectively.  Now, I do not know just how much Mike can see and hear from heaven, as most of that remains a mystery while we work out our lives here on earth, however, having children and grandchildren was important to both of us.  Therefore, I would like to think that Mike is just as much a part of creating this website for our grandchildren as I am.  May his memory be honored.

So, Mike, meet your Grandchildren!

First three:  Joey's kids.  Their mother is Amber.

Evalyn Jeriah, poised and creative!  Eva loves to act and loves to write and already has published her first book.  Eva was born to be a first-born and loves to lead her siblings - when they cooperate, it's even fun to watch!  Eva has a sensitive spirit, protector of her siblings and loves the things of God.

Ruthie Josiah, daring, energetic and adventuresome!  Ruth loves to talk and be a part of everything!  I was told by both her parents that she is the most like me.  Did I mention that Ruthie is verbose?  The good part of Ruthie's love to talk is that if you stop to listen, really listen, her prattles and stories show that she notices everybody and everything.

Jeremiah Michael, loving and funny!  Jeremiah definately has the Taddeo wit that was passed down from grandfather to son to grandson!  He is easy going and does not mind living in a sister dominated household very much, but just sometimes, he tells me, he would like to do boy stuff when he visits.  If ever there was a "Grandpa's Boy," it would be Jeremiah.  I can picture him dominating your lap and heart, just like Joe did, so many years ago.

Last two:  Corrie and Carlos' children.

Gabriel Lucas, the speaker of the Avila household, Gabriel does not hold his opinion back.  At three, he is also most sensitive and shows how much he cares for family members.  Like his Uncle Joe, he is most inquisitive about how things work..  However, Gabriel is uniquely his own little person.  Ever the polite host, while I was chatting on the phone with him and inquired about his family's Christmas tree, he traveled downstairs from his parents' bedroom, and walked over to the Christmas tree, and held up the phone so I could "see" the tree.

Micah Daniel, the happiest baby on earth, till he's mad or hurt.  He is watching everyone and everything - like his grandfather, he appears to be a little thinker.  He's also a mover and a shaker, first crawling and now running, to keep up with the rest of the family - let's see if that lasts into his teenage years!

When time moves on, we'll see if there is any more grandchildren.  However, with these five, our quiver of grandchildren is quite full.
