It took me 40 days to write this tribute maybe because I'm still in denial that I lost a person who is like a mother to me. As the days go by it finally dawned to me that auntie mila had already left us. Her passing on made me realize how loved she was by many people, relatives or friends, like a tree, you can not measure its vastness unless it has fallen. While growing up, auntie mila and I share so many stories and experiences, she always confided her joys and her worries. Everytime I visit Gensan was always welcoming and happy. She prepared things and stuff for me to bring home, which I happily look forward to. I always drag her to the markets to do my pamalengke which she always obliged.
In every phase and event of my life she is always present and very supportive in her own comforting way. That's why going home to Gensan will never be the same again. There will always be a void visiting her house.
However, she is now in a better place where there will be no worries, pains and difficulties that we who are left behind will still hurdle every now and then. It is only heart wrenching that she left us in this pandemic.
We were not given the chance to be with her in her last moments. Indeed, God's plans is better than ours.
To auntie Mila, this is not goodbye but only farewell. Thank you for your love and the chance of celebrating your life with us. You will forever be missed. Rest well in God's eternal peace. Until we see each other again in God's perfect time.

Thank you for sharing your precious time with us during the nine days of the novena and holy rosary and Lagao Alliance Church's prayer for healing and divine comfort last May 14-22. While we've culminated the nine day-tradition, friends, and relatives from near and far continuously offer daily healing masses and cell group prayer meetings for our dearly departed Mama Mila and our recovering family members Auntie Bebeth; Papa Toto; Cousins Jojo, Kean, and Kenneth; Tita Jebeth; and also our support staff Princess and Mariel. Kindly include the eternal repose of the soul of Nanay Estrellita Galang, Bingkay Tata Dapanas' mother-in-law, who also died of covid days after Mama in Pampanga. That said, we will constantly be sending the links here from time to time. My co-Lead in the Davao Art Base project, Pam Castrillo, has offered ADDU’s healing masses. Philippine Women’s College of Davao has also dedicated a community Holy Rosary every night. Davao Chinese Baptist Church accorded one Sunday for intentional prayer. Let us also include the continuous healing of Bing Carino, who has been admitted to Gensan Doctors Hospital ICU for almost a month now, also due to Covid. The Salazar and Carino families have been praying with us. Prayerfully, we seek God's healing over Leonardo Rey S. Cariño.

Let us also pray for our attending physicians: Dr. Em-Em Arias, Dr. Dan Demonteverde, Dr. Tabar, Dr. Padua, and the nursing and healthcare teams from SoCSKSarGen County Hospital and Jorge V. Royeca Hospital. People need their services in these trying and difficult times. May God's healing and protection be upon them. They've been working tirelessly 24/7. Dr. Arias, for one, has to multi-task as a doctor and as a mother to her children as well. She never failed to update through text or call since Mama's admission. She has not missed a day to text or call me for updates. God’s blessing and protection to our two angels Aiai and KenKen. Irene Mae Clarde Englis watched over mama in ICU and continued to do so with papa. Her brother Ken Clarde Englis is still moving around to bring the much-needed supplies to the hospital.
To my big and extended family the Englis, Ingles, Bañas, Legario, Leoncio, Celeste, Alpas, Dapanas, Galang, Javillo, Villanueva, Osias, Rosos, Blando, Nograles, Demonteverde, Depamaylo, Engbino, Conlu, Solis, Tambuli and Del Rio, biggest hugs to all of you. My quarantine ayuda is overflowing Sharon Bañas Rosos, Sherryl Banas Blando, Bingkay Tata Dapanas, Lilian May Celeste Alpas, Bañas-Nograles L. Shirlyn ❤️ My Philippine Women's College of Davao (Official) and Davao Fashion and Design Council Foundation, Inc. families who are always hands on to everything that is happening since day one, my gratitude is overflowing. Chancellor Vicente Antonio Vallejo Pijano III Barba Brenda Aztec Barba Dodjie Batu. Mobile legends Patrick Canon, Manyeen Tan, Baden Surmillon, and Baloy Aparente, thanks for bringing my whims and things back and forth.

And finally, for our individual and family's protection. May God's wisdom and discernment rule over us. Sometimes our entitlement pushes us to the edge of danger. We are both responsible and accountable for our actions and decisions.

May I also take this opportunity to thank every one of you for your soulful prayers, thoughtful encouragement, and kind generosity? Your support eased the burdens on our shoulders during this difficult time. We cannot mention you one by one, but we fervently pray that God will bless you back a hundredfold.

In remembrance of the life of Mama, you may want to continue writing a tribute or sharing your photos and videos in her online memorial website: https://www.forevermissed.com/mila-legario-englis/.

In closing, we pray the Aaronic Blessing heartily:
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift his countenance upon you and give you peace" (Numbers 6:23b–27).

Auntie Mila is just like a second mother to me. Not only because silingan mi, but because I can feel the motherly love gikan sa iyaha gikan pa sa akong childhood. I remember, everytime I went home in Gensan from Cebu, pagkahibalo niya nga naabot ko, tawgun dayun ko niya to have a breakfast, lunch and dinner with her and uncle Toto. I remember, nangutana siya nako, when I was still in first year college, kung naa na ba daw ko uyab, o nakakiss na ba ko.Niingon sad ko, tapsing lang auntie..she was funny, pero so sweet kaayo. Never ka makakita niya nga nasuko. One time we went to Robinsons Place, from Capareda St. to Robinsons, naglaag mi nga naglakaw lang mi, and you know what, Nag Karaoke mi, kuyog sad ang usa nakoka igaagaw, si Denden, kay tagsa lang lagi magkita. I thought magkita pa mi, but the pandemic has halted to have a vacation in Gensan in 2020. I love you Auntie! Enjoy yourself in the presence of our Almighty God!

I saw how you fought well against covid 19 Auntie, you were so positive that everything will be fine. We prayed everyday, and we saw improvement in your condition, and I thought you will truly survive. But unexpected things happen, and no matter how we want you to survive, It’s God’s last call. I know He has greater plans for everything, and His intention is always for good. Though it breaks our hearts to live in a reality that you are gone now, I believe God wants us to trust Him more, and rejoice because you are now with Him. No more pain and suffering. We will surely miss you Auntie. Praying for peace, and comfort to the family.

From Nona Demonteverde Cometa

I would like to express my sadness ...losing a dear cousin
Whom I fondly call Inday mil ..fun memories of our childhood days
Will remain in my heart and it is with great joy ....These group of flowers represents her virtuous
Life of kindness, goodness, patient, faithfulness , self control
And always joyful . Inday mil is a woman after God’s own heart and
Will always be greatly praised in our hearts forever .. ..

Inday mil is very special to me we grew up together as neighbors and relatives as well .. fun memories we cherished like gathering drifted would ods by the river after flood , eating together
Half ripen crunchy papaya and climbing their guava trees in their yard ...Inday Mil a good hearted lady , soft spoken always smiling
Never heard her complain about anything .. I am happy to see her
With Manang Nieve visited me every time I came home from abroad we reminisced stories in the past laughing joyfully line our stories never end ...I will surely miss Inday Mil ... with the hope in my heart I will see her again ...

Inday mil this is neneng nona as you call me since we were young
I do not know how to face Manang nieve when I go back to Gensan for void when I retire .. we even talked about visiting each other
And will go back in the time sharing the fruits we gather
Telling stories of the old
And laughing with all our hearts content ...Love you Inday mil..

From Grace Tschung

Inday Mil is a precious cousin to me. We grew up together and made good and naughty experiences when we were small. We tried to defend each others when we were scolded by our parents. Playing and go biking together, she seldom complain. She always take time to visit me when ever I’m home I can never forget her giving me the best fruits from their farm . She is gone to be with the Lord no more pain and worries. You will always be in my heart till we meet again.
