Mildred Greene Jenkins, 83, a native of Granville County and former resident of Greensboro passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home.

Mildred was the daughter of the late Lonnie Sidney and Vennie Davis Greene. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mildred attended Kings Business College, worked at Southern States in Granville County and retired from Guilford County Schools.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 3:30 P.M. in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Steve Brown. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Oxford.

Surviving are two daughters, Joan Jenkins Mitchell (Don) of Greensboro, Vanessa Jenkins (Fidel) of Oxford; a brother, John Greene (Peggy) of Creedmoor; five grandchildren, Holly Mitchell, Erica Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Bruce Mitchell and Van Perez Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Smith Jenkins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. May 9, 2017 at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home of John and Peggy Greene.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Harold Sherman Adult Day Care Center, 1038 College St. Oxford, N.C. 27565
