Mildred Lay Tucker was born November 1, 1932 to the late Johnny and Rosa Ann Lay of Heard County.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church, Grantville, Ga, until her health declined.

She was employed at the Dan Rivers Corporation (Bibbs Mfg) until her retirement.

Mildred departed this life on January 21, 2012 at the Doctors Hospice in Fayetteville, GA.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Willie Frank Tucker, and to this union five children were born.

Mildred was preceded in death by brothers Jodie Houston, Harvey Lay, Sr., Clifford Lay and Amos Lay; sister, Rosa Lee Melson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Willie Frank Tucker; sons, Willie E. Tucker, Robert (Christine) Tucker; daughters, Judy Tate, Dianne Robinson, Betty Pullins (John), and Rebecca Dennis Smith; sisters, Katie McGinty (Clarence) and Arrie Davis; one brother, Willie Melvin Lay (Viola); one sister-in-law, Vivian Lay; a long-life companion, Willie Roger Foster; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
