Her Life

April 16, 2021
Our dearly beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister; Minnie Fernandes passed away on April 16, 2021.
It is a huge shock for us all.
Last week, we had all enjoyed 6 days touring Krabi and the Southern Islands with close friends. Mum had enjoyed getting a fireman’s lift from Murray. She also delighted in recounting her Uganda days stories and arriving in England "without even a spoon to her name”!
Gordon and I had been planning to bring her back to Watford in the summer so she could catch up with all her dear family and friends.
We are so thankful for the joys that she brought us, especially the past one and half years that we had with her, here in the sunshine in Phuket.
At her last supper, on April 14, she was in such high spirits. I am thankful that Kyle pressed me to invite Emmy and Gordon over for an impromptu family dinner. We had all had a joyful time together. Before dinner, Mum lost the first round of cards and become P I G, so she desperately wanted us to continue playing, so she could pass the title to someone else and she deftly did!

On April 15, she had a normal day. In the late evening she complained of breathing difficulties. She suffered just a few moments and passed peacefully on the way to the hospital at 00.15 on April 16.

She will be missed so dearly and is now shining down on us with our dear dad.
We celebrated her 80th last month and we are grateful that she was full of laughter and life to the end. We hope to bring back her ashes in the summer so you can all give her a send off that she deserves.
Thank you for your love!
