ForeverMissed

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Mahadev Kumbar, 71, born on November 15, 1939 and passed away on September 15, 2011. We will remember him forever.

"I have got my leave. Bid me farewell, my brothers! I bow to you all and take my departure.
Here I give back the keys of my door---and I give up all claims to my house.
I only ask for last kind words from you. We were neighbors for long,
but I received more than I could give.  Now the day has dawned and the lamp that lit my dark corner is out.
A summons has come and I am ready for my journey."

"At this time of my parting, wish me good luck, my friends! The sky is flushed with the dawn and my path lies beautiful.  Ask not what I have with me to take there. I start on my journey with empty hands and expectant heart.  I shall put on my wedding garland. Mine is not the red-brown dress of the traveller, and though there are dangers on the way I have no fear in mind.  The evening star will come out when my voyage is done and the plaintive notes of the twilight melodies be struck up from the King's gateway."

"When I go from hence let this be my parting word, that what I have seen is unsurpassable.  I have tasted of the hidden honey of this lotus that expands on the ocean of light, and thus am I blessed---let this be my parting word.  In this playhouse of infinite forms I have had my play and here have I caught sight of him that is formless. My whole body and my limbs have thrilled with his touch who is beyond touch; and if the end comes here, let it come---let this be my parting word."

Second time he visited India in 1980 along with uday anna and sujata.I remember that day we came all the way  from suratgarh to meet them in Bombay(Mumbai). Two days we stayed  with them in mumbai in Atlanta Hotel near MarineDrive.

third time my uncle visited India on 29th June 1998 along with aunty and sujata.after 18 yrs they visited that was very very long gap.....I went  with them to Bangalore and MysoreWe all stayed there for four days i.e from 25th to 28th July 1998.We stayed in Tarlu Balu Kendra ,R T nagar in Bangalore. We visited Mysore Chamundi Hills,Mysore palace and k R  sagar  dam.

Fourth time he visited in 2008 January. He saw me with my husband and my two kids.He was very happy to see us.In Alnavar (my grandmother place) during the house warming ceremony there was a surprise celebration of  their 50th marraige anniversary .

we never thought that it would be  his last visit to India. His demise was a shocking news for all of us,we never expected this so early

Kumbar Uncle

September 23, 2011

We have known you for over 20 years now. Since that time, we have seen you as caring, nurturing and helping nature. To give an example:  when we opened our pharmacy ten years ago, you used to send us the prescriptions to be filled from New York. Even though you had plenty of other pharmacies around you. You wanted to help small independent pharmacy from a Veerashaiva family. I deeply appreciate and thank you from bottom of my heart.

One day, we finished our program at the church in New Brunswick at 10:00 pm.  After the program, our family and my cousin were talking in the parking lot.  Uncle patiently waited in the car.  Later, he came and told us that he did not want to leave us alone in the parking lot.  Eventhough, you had another 2-3 hours drive to go to Long Island, you patiently waited for us.  That ment a lot to us.

We are all going to miss you. I am confident that your future generation [as well as others] will follow your footstep.
