Brother Bjay, was uniquely different, he always wore a smile,very matured,filled with zeal for God and his children,he loved to discuss the things of God and always settled different doctrinal issues and made brotherly love prevail, though he was a member of Love Ward fellowship on campus, he related very well with most of the brethren in other fellowships, he was a confirmed Child of the Most high God,cool headed and always ready to do things for God. He was a friend to my wife Olufunmilade and we both screamed when we heard of his transition to glory. May God raise more people like Bro Bjay in this generation that will unite the body of Christ in wisdom. Condolences to his Wife, children and his extended family ,Pst Poju, Agboola,Debo and co. Rest on good Soldier of Christ till the resurrection morning.

It’s been over three decades we met in Apapa. The Lord Jesus brought us together, zealous for the Lord, passionate about God and the things of God.
He encouraged me in the Lord. Bolaji loved God and was a good example to me and the body of Christ. I believe you have fought a good fight and won the race and you are being cuddled in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
It’s good to know you are in a better place and I use this opportunity to tell all around that we should seek God while it is day. Now is the day of salvation.
Let us work our salvation with fear and trembling.
Rest on.

Dearest BJay,

I can hardly find the words.

All I can think of is the last of the many 'office pop-ins' you made and the prayer you sent up for me after asking me a certain question out of the blue and I answered in the affirmative. "Lord make everything easy for her." you prayed, right there out in the open as I saw you off, never shy to grab ones hands, and bow your head, wherever and however in heartfelt prayer.
Well, easy it was and easy it has been my dear friend.

Forgive me for not calling when thoughts of you graced my heart.

Never a word of offense would cross your lips, even if you were deeply hurt, rather you would smile and laugh, like you knew something we didn't. A man of absolute integrity you were, you would rather be cheated than deal the same hand in return.

I will miss you greatly brother of mine, but to know you are with the Lord, whom you loved and served so passionately and so deeply on this side of heaven in both ministry, life and profession will ease the pain with time.

Thank you for being all you were so boldly and kindly.
I am grateful that the Lord deemed it good that the thread of your life crossed the thread of mine.

May the Lord strengthen and comfort your beautiful girls, Yetunde, Tomisin & Korede. May the seed of your life bring forth marvelous fruit through them and for them.

God's Speed BJay, Rest in His Peace & Power until our own morning comes.

His Journey’s Just Begun
By Ellen Brenneman

Don’t think of Bro BJ as gone away
another phase of his journey’s just begun,
Life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows, pain and tears
in a place of eternal light,warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.

Adapted by Adebimpe Ọṣinuga, your Àbúrò
~~~~~~~~~~
Bro BJ, You showed me a lot of things.
I learned a lot I didn’t know,
We fought, we laughed, and I leave with your many admonitions
Big Bro, we shared dreams and plans,
and some secrets too.
All these memories are what bonds me now to you.
You are my brother not by the nature of our birth but by bonds of brotherhood and fellowship
This love shared by our family -
Will never fade away
Sun ré o Ègbón mí! Rest on the bosom of Abba.
Hey Bolaji, it's been ages. Sad to learn about this, though I see that there's much to celebrate and rejoice; from your achievements to your family, and beyond. While I wish we had reconnected in the years since Ijanikin, I mustn't be selfish and be glad that you got to share your kind spirit with many others.
Here's wishing your family the fortitude to carry on in your absence. Adieu, bruv.
Dear BJ
I remember you fondly as one of the Loveward "big brothers" who used to look out for all of us, making sure we're okay and doing well.....
My sister Yinka especially remembers your gentle smile especially as we teased you when you started getting close to one sister in particular - Yetunde; can't forget that shy smile as we pulled your legs.
Now, you've left us and gone to be with our Lord and Saviour - it is well!!!
May the Lord strengthen and comfort Yetunde, Korede and Tomisin at this time - we will always look out for them.
Rest in the Lord, my brother.
BJ was one of those who made Loveward home for me. His ever present smile, his reassuring handshakes and his literal bearhug were all characteristic of a man whose pattern was to always encourage others. My leaving for Idi Araba just after one year did not diminish such great impact of his and that impact and the memories linger till today 33 years later.
Our hearts are with our Sister Yetunde and their lovely children at this time. May the Father's unending comfort remain evergreen in their hearts.
Rest on BJ, till we meet to part no more...
BJ would come round to U318 and... I'll say...."Bee Jay".... he would flash that smile.. I'll say "Bee Jay" again.... and then our little ritual... I'll stretch out my hand, and he would slap it hard...… and I'll say ouch! Or something whimpy like that... he would smile again, and then I'd be enveloped in a bear hug. He was the most gentle giant I knew..... and that smile......
Fondly remembered..
BJ...Words aren't sufficient at times like these but you weren't someone who was shy about expressing yourself. Your passion for Architecture and Design kept me going in Unilag and your fire for the things of God in the LoveWard Fellowship no doubt left a positive, indelible mark in my walk with God and was truly inspirational.
Thank you for gracing this earth with your presence. You will be missed my brother.
We will meet again in God's Presence.
Rest well BJ.
Our dearest ever gentle, ever smiling Uncle BJ. You were a gentle giant indeed. I remember when I was a new convert in the Loveward fellowship, you would make it a point of duty to stop and greet me with a big smile, even if you were rushing off for lectures. You would take your time to ask how I was doing both spiritually and academically. You were a true big brother who I always knew cared deeply for everyone around and especially young converts like myself back then.
We love you uncle BJ, but we are comforted in the fact that you are now enjoying fellowship with your Lord and Saviour Yeshua HaMashiach, the saints in Heaven and all the angels. I am confident that we will meet again in Heaven, to part no more for ever and ever, Amen.
May the Lord comfort your darling wife, my beautiful beloved sister Yetunde and your beautiful girls.
BJ! My brother, my friend. I’ve sat with a sad heart recalling the loveward days. Your passion and love for God. You were truly a gentle giant and so so caring. And how can we forget that smile, you were always beaming with the love of God. I’m so sad we didn’t reconnect after so long. You are now with the one you love so much.
Rest in the bosom of the father till we meet to part no more. You will never be forgotten. Love you bro.
BJ! It’s been difficult to write.
You were such a great guy, a true egbon. I remember those evenings in front of Moremi Hall, Unilag when you would share the word and your experiences.
You interceded for me often, especially if you noticed any unbel brother around me. Then you married Yetty and it got even better.
You were truly a gentle giant. This is our loss but heaven’s gain
Oh, How Heaven Smiled On Us
In Brother BJ, you knew you had a comrade.
Whether you spoke often or mainly exchanged
pleasantries at the dawn of each New Year,
you just knew without contradiction
that you had a guileless friend in him.
To state that he was ever so unassuming
would be the understatement of the year.
He had such noble, seraphic instincts.
It seemed heaven spared him the burden of
a heart capable of perfidy, spite, and scorn.
His reassuring smile was his unwritten signature.
Despite his compelling presence and capacity,
a gentler soul would be a true rarity.
Though endowed with the wisdom of sages,
he wore his learning lightly at all times.
The gentle giant now belongs to the ages,
but his memory shall remain evergreen in our hearts.
Long before he triumphantly passed that pearly gate,
he knew to live heavenly in a sinful world.
Of a truth, he epitomized virtue in its purest form.
His humility and kindness were palpable,
so we bless the God of All Goodness for
the once purposeful life of our beloved Brother BJ.
This tribute to a truly tranquil treasure
would be inexcusably incomplete without
a firm declaration that of a truth, for a season,
Heaven smiled on us with the gift of Brother BJ.
I first met Bolaji (Bj) in 1977 in a wonderful Secondary School (FGC Lagos), that United all students in near Utopian unity.
My unity and friendship with Bj continued long after we left this secondary school.
I feel privileged to have known Bj.
I lift Bj's family in Prayers.
I lift Khalil his younger brother,who like BJ was,is a dear brother and friend to me,in my prayers.
I pray the GOOD LORD GOD comforts and strengthens them all.
BJ was a rare gem,friendly and supportive,many attest to this fact.
May GOD rest BJ's soul till we meet to part no more...
I met Bolaji in the late 90’s, we quickly became very good friends, business partners and a source of Christian encouragement to one another. BJ was a man that fully, completely loved the Lord, genuinely served Christ and worked tirelessly for the furtherance of the kingdom of Christ as much as was within his power.
I can attest to the fact that he was a man of godly character, integrity and a man who based the value preposition of his life on the values and the world views of Christ.
I love his childlike humour, his friendliness, his large heartedness, his giving disposition and very effortless smile. I am positive his work his done, his assignment fulfilled and now he rests to await his full reward at the feet of The Christ he served so much.
I sincerely commiserate with Yetunde and the children, his family and his friends.
I pray his values and legacies would continue to encourage those of us alive to serve the Lord and give our all to Him as He bids us.
Goodbye Beloved BJ.
Ok so basically, i'm still overwhelmed by all this like it's so unbelievable. So much has happened that could have resulted in anything but this, you leaving. I can't even begin to explain the suprising burden in my heart, everything happened all of a sudden, uncomprehendable. I'm so glad i saw u before having to do this, it doesn't really change anything but in everything be grateful to God right? I guess all that's left to say is I love you more than i ever showed you and there will always be a huge space especially for you in my heart. And i know you will rest in perfect peace, I love you....
BJ,
I recall a life well lived and I give God thanks.
I recall us becoming neighbours, your infectious smile and warmth.
I recall day's of endless football and your amazing left foot drilling into the bottom right
I recall dreams of a preferred future shared, Mama's Empire, Ogba Young Boys Club and late night debates.
I recall your journey to faith.
I recall the joy of knowing you had received Christ.
I recall day's on campus, fellowship and growth.
And when I recall all these things and more, I count the blessing of friendship this side of eternity.
Knowing that this current chapter is done and future eternal chapters are yet to be written.
His Life
Biography
June 30, 2021
Mobolaji Babatunde ANIBABA was born on the 5th of August 1965 to the family of Mr Mutiu Olasoju Anibaba and Mrs Adebisi Ayesha Anibaba at the Island Maternity Hospital, Lagos Island, Lagos.
He attended St.Bernardette Nursery and Primary school Abeokuta and finished his primary school curriculum at the University of Lagos Staff School, Akoka in 1976. He then went to the Federal Government College Lagos, Ijanikin from 1976 to 1981 for his secondary education. He was admitted to the University of Lagos, Akoka for Architecture in 1982 graduating with a combined degree in Architecture and Environmental Design.
Bolaji has always been very entrepreneurial. While he was at the university, he ran a business designing and producing t-shirts and polo-shirts, from which he earned considerable income as a student. Post graduation, Bolaji fell in love with the furniture and interior decor business that would form his major stock in trade for several years until he rediscovered his passion for architecture and construction which he was fully immersed in until his passing.
For most of his professional life, he ran his own business. He however had the privilege of working for a few years with a number of organizations and on some important projects including Design Point Limited and the Living Faith church. With the latter, he was part of the Covenant University Project team, after which he was deployed to the National Projects team, building churches and schools around the country. After a few years, Bolaji resigned his position in 2005 to continue his entrepreneurial journey. He was scheduled to facilitate the construction of a major hotel project when his health began to deteriorate.
Bolaji got born again in circa 1985 following a miraculous restoration of his health - a testimony he always shared with passion. He was a dedicated member and leader of the Loveward (campus) fellowship and a founding member of the Word of Faith Bible Church (now the Covenant Nation). For over 20 years, he was a member of the Winners Chapel, where he was ordained a Deacon and served as a Zonal Minister. He later joined the Highlife Church where he served on the pastoral team of the Community church responsible for reaching a specific demographic, not only with the Word of God, but with activities designed to build them up secularly. But more than his formal church activities, BJ was passionate about God, and about winning souls to Christ. In recent years, he made a habit of carrying out personal evangelistic outreaches along with a few friends every week. He believed that this was ultimately his Heavenly Father's heart and the crux of his journey of faith having had a vision of people burning in hell in his early days as a Christian.
BJ loved football and dogs! When he attended his mother's funeral in England in August 1983, his dexterity and passion for the game resulted in an offer to join the junior team of Tottenham Hotspurs, which he could not accept as he had to return home for his education.
He was a fitness freak as a young man, always encouraging his sibling and friends likewise. He was a loving, supportive and protective elder brother to Khalil and Farouk, and was loved by members friends and family alike.
A caring and faithful husband and father, for over 22 years, Bolaji was married to Yetunde Anibaba nee Ajayi, and together have two lovely daughters Oluwakorede and Oluwatomisin Bolaji- Anibaba.
My Bolaji Anibaba Story;
July 6, 2021
By Okechukwu NWADE
I first heard of Bolaji Anibaba before I met him.
This was in 1977, in a place called Satellite Town in Lagos,a temporary boarding facility for the male students of FGCL.
Two members of 1976 entry set were discussing a Legend,a story of how a brave little Bolaji Anibaba had stood up to some bully in a previous Hostel for FGCL students in Isaac John in Yaba.
I did not have the privilege to be in Isaac John,and stories of all that occured in Isaac John deeply interested me.
I saw Bolaji not long after,a fight had broken out between two male students,both belligerents were dear friends of mine,I was learning dancing (John Travolta/Saturday Night fever type of dance steps) from one of them and I was learning punting in the shallow waters around Satellite Town from the other.
Ordinarily we loved to watch fights,but this was one fight I did not wish to watch.
So I sprang in-between and a Karate kick from one of them,like a mule kick almost dislocated my hips.
Bjay and another student came in to break the fight.
We broke up the fight,no Victor no vanquished and Bolaji Anibaba became a friend afterwards.
Bolaji Anibaba a fine sportsman: Boxer,Table Tennis.
Bolaji Anibaba an extremely reliable Ally.
Long after FGCL I continued to be in touch with Bjay,in UNILAG Bjay sought out my younger brother who looks much like me and became very close with him for my sake.
Such was the friendship.
The friendship transcended decades,and in all those years Bjay never stopped being extremely reliable.
GOD has in HIS wisdom decided to call Bjay home.
The same GOD is able to comfort and strengthen Bjay's immediate family and all those who knew him and who have deeply felt his departure.
I thank GOD for the privilege to have known such a wonderful person and I will cherish the impressions and memories B Jay left behind till my dying day.
May GOD rest Bjay's soul till we meet to part no more.
BJ was that friend who stuck closer than a brother i remember back then in Unilag 3rd year when I had accomodation challenges it was him who took me in despite the owner saying he was to stay in the quarter's alone at Ozolua. To stay with him meant compulsory the early morning loveward prayers at the sports centre i can't miss because buy 4.30am he would wake me up to put beans on fire so that by the time we come back food is ready. The gas cooker has to be the right tuning, water, pepper, palm oil, and all the  eperegies. Im sure the B in his name meant beans. When it comes to the study of the scriptures BJ can stay all night he had this bible that was forever in his bag fully marked with notes everywhere.
During my thesis finals even though he had graduated BJ left home then in Gbagada moved to studio with me together we worked from Friday to Monday morning maybe we had 2 to 3 hours sleep in all. That was BJ for me.
After school days he would call on me to find out how practice is and ministry the last time we spoke he was telling me of his plans to go into the ministry full time. May the lord comfort my Sis Yetunde and the family at this time and may his soul rest in peace.
