Today I remembered Mr Abayachi, I was reminiscing about old times and I remembered him and decided to look him up to see if I could find him. I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. It was in ninth grade when I met Mr Abayashi, I was a shy quite kid and had not been good at math in my previous years. He was stern, direct and very clear with his explanations and kept me engaged and entertained with his funny comments. I fondly remember him jokingly call me or others in class “burros” after not understanding a topic and finding a way to re explain. I know my uncle had great appreciation for him as well since he was an old student of his (BHS ‘86) and he was happy that Mr Abayachi was going to be teaching me. Although I was only his student for 9th grade and half of 10th grade, Mr Abayachi’s class allowed me to understand and enjoy math at a fundamental age. I am now an engineer and I’m so grateful that god put him in my path. I wish I had a chance to go back and thank him for his lessons and being a great teacher. Thank you Mr Abayachi you will forever be remembered. My condolences to his family and friends. Edgar Morales BHS ‘01

I am greatly saddened by the news of Mr. Abayachi, as I would call him. I worked with him for many years at LACC. He would come into my office and ask me for help when ever he wasn't able to do something online. Always respectful, always happy, always sweet. I am so sorry he is no longer with us, I just found out today, hence the late note on here. I wish I would've seen him again and said good by to him. My deepest condolences to all his family and friends. I am so sad, my heart goes out to you all. He was a wonderful person. God have him in heaven resting in peace. He will for ever have a place in my heart. ♥♥♥♥♥

His Life

Mt. Wilson

July 8, 2021
My father loved Mt Wilson Griffith Park, Yellow Stone, Yosemite, & the Sciences. His joy was teaching our citizens children while finding refuge with friends who enjoyed jogging & the natural beauty of the Earth. Life is a voyage, He would say, & you have to make every precious second count, while he pondered if philosophical principles.  "Can something could come from nothing"? Teaching wasn't just a job to my DAD it was a way of life.

Professor of Physics & Mathematics, Proud citizen, Dad & Grandfather.
