Her Life
February 8, 2012

Jennifer Fitzgerald (Block, Lamano, Moireh Moon) died Wednesday, February 1st, 2012, in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Jennifer was Born Mary Jane Dorris on April 22, 1948 to Mary Jane Gantly and Roy Dorris in Buffalo, New York. She remembered New Jersey as the place that she spent her formative years, as her father was in the Navy.

She started writing poetry at the age of 17 and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 21. Her MS went into a very lengthy 20 year remission during which time she was able to raise two sons, and make a living as the director of several programs specializing in counseling drug addicts, alcoholics and convicts. She touched many lives, especially in the Santa Cruz area, and made the most out of her healthy years in California.

When her MS returned in 1992, she resigned from her career and began a series of journeys to try and foster her spiritual and creative self. She lived in Indiana, New Jersey, and finally settled in Arizona, where she spent her last several years with her true soul mate, Moonfire, a mixed breed canine friend. The road was difficult, and she is in a better place.

She is survived by her two sons, Caley and Jeremy, a daughter in law and five grandchildren, who all loved her very much.

She will be dearly missed.
