January 12, 2021
Mojisola Omolola Benson was born on the 20th April 1971 to late Mr Ezekiel Ayinde Oke Fakeye and late Mrs Patience Bamijoko Kofoworola Fakeye, She was the 3rd of four girls, born to them. Moji had her primary school education at St. Mary’s Private School, Lagos before heading to Federal Government Girls' College, New Bussa for her secondary school education. She studied Law at the Lagos State University (LASU) and was called to the bar in 1996 at the prestigious Nigeria Law School. Moji practised as a lawyer in Nigeria until 1998, when she relocated to UK for her post graduate degree at Brunel University, London.

She first briefly met her Kehinde Benson at a computer school in 1993, but fate would bring them together again in 1996 when she met him at the call to bar celebration of Hon. Babajimi Benson. After a romantic courtship, they got married on the 11th of July 1998. Soon after their wedding, Moji and Kehinde relocated together to UK to study for their post graduate degree courses at Brunel University. Right from their courtship days, Moji and Kehinde knew the Lord, loved and served God earnestly. They formed a united front to live a life of service to God, which saw them serve first at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Praise Tabernacle, and then at Christ Faith Tabernacle. It was at Christ Faith Tabernacle that they were sent on a mission to open a branch at Bristol, which they led until her demise. Their union is blessed with two beautiful children Oreoluwa and Oluwatise.

Not only was she a strong Christian, but she was also a phenomenally successful and enterprising businesswoman. She single-handedly built her international fashion brand of top-quality handbags, handbagcrave, with sales all over the world. She recently launched her ‘Lola Benson’ range, which has proven to be a popular brand.

Moji was dedicated to her children and was a constant source of encouragement to her sisters, with whom she shared a strong bond.

She was a lover of God, faithful wife, devoted mother, supportive sister, aunty, niece, and cousin to many. You are gone but will never be forgotten. We will always love you and miss you. Sun re o, Mojisola Omolola Benson.
