Her Life

The Love of a mother is priceless

September 8, 2012

Gone too soon, My mother, the angel. We borrowed her directly from heaven. God gave  joy to our lives. I will forever remember my mother, wouldn't you?

My mother, Eliza Flennory, was sunny, light hearted, playful, entertaining and fun to be around. She played games with her children, danced the Charleston and just plain mommy to us. She was such a bright and shinning star.
She died much too young.  She left behind to mourn her loving husband and  us; a daughter Rose, 23 who had two toddlers; Michael and A.Joseph  a son Percy Jr. Age 28, who was married and living 60 miles away, a loving son, Bill age 19, a daughter Therisa age 17, Johnny, age 14, Mary age 12, Eva, age 8 and a baby boy Gregory, age 5 1/2 .

MY mother's illness was long and difficult, lasting 5 years. During the last year  of her illness she became totally bedridden. it was 1961 when she lost her battle.  She was never really diagnosed for any specific illness. However, she spent her last months in pain and  mourning. We did not want her to suffer, yet we did not want to loose her. We loved her so much.

I became a nurse, vowing to never allow another love one to suffer.  I realized that I was only one person but a strong and determine person who would work hard to ensure the rights of others. I have enjoyed 44 years of caring for others.

Mrs. Eliza was tall (about 5ft 11 inches), had sandy brown hair and beautiful doe-like eyes. She married the love of her life and stayed faithful to my father until her death. She brought such joy and excitement to everyone she met. And to this end I let others into my memory of you, mom.

Your daughter,
Theresa
