UNILAG DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS PAYS VISIT TO DR. A. R. KENKU, WIFE OF FORMER HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, on Thursday,
February 16, 2023, paid a visit to the wife of a former Head of Department, Dr.
(Mrs) A.R. Kenku at her residence. The team was led by the Acting Head of Department, Dr.
Adesanmi Mogbademu.
The visit presented an opportunity for the Department to appreciate the family for instituting the MONSUR KENKU PRIZE in honour of late Professor Monsur Akangbe Kenku. The Prize was instituted as a way of recognizing and encouraging outstanding Mathematics contributions of staff to the development of the scientific and engineering world.
Prof. Monsur Akangbe Kenku was born on December 14, 1942. He became a Professor of Mathematics in 1983 and was Head, Department of Mathematics between 1987 & 1990 and 1994 & 2000. Prof. M. A. Kenku passed away on June 24, 2021.
