ForeverMissed

We mourn the passing of Morris Lee Greene, affectionately known as Moe, of Barrington, NJ, who died on Sunday, December 14, 2014, from natural causes. His death was a shock to those who knew him, and he will be missed for his jovial smile, his warm heart, and his steady friendship. Moe was born in 1938, in Washington, DC, but always called Philadelphia home. He attended South Philadelphia High School, was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant from the U.S. Army Reserve, and worked until his retirement as Lieutenant in the Security Division of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was gifted at birth with a soulful voice and developed a steady following of listeners; Guy Morris's "Hot Pants Party/Cool It" is still being sampled by R&B lovers all over the world (listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuyn-JrMyvQ). He was predeceased by his mother, Doris Green, his son, Morris Lee Greene, Jr., and his sister, Dolores White, and is survived by his brother, Norman Green of Washington, DC, and his children: Cheryl and Rev. Peter Harris of Philadelphia, Carlos Greene and his son, Corey Hackett, of Philadelphia, Brazelle Green of Pittsburgh, Concetta Tinsley and her children, Alyssa and Lamar of Philadelphia, Gina Thompson and her children Cierra and Laura of Wyncote, PA, Andre and Natasha Gaynor and their children Andre, Ne’Andre, Beatrice of Philadelphia, Jeffrey and Allena Gaynor and their children Jeffrey, Jr., Jasmine, Corey, Nahlief, Sabrina, Sirena and Shante of Philadelphia, Michael and Celeste Gaynor and their children Breyahna, Shayne, Rialiah, Michael and Marcus of Philadelphia and Moe’s youngest daughter, Samantha Greene of Washington, DC. He is also survived by dear friends – in particular, Frances Gaynor and Carol Greene-Roethke, with whom he shares children, and also with countless cousins, nephews and nieces, great-grandchildren and friends, who we hope will keep Moe in their hearts. No memorial services will be planned. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, Moe's memory can be honored by a contribution to the Children's Seashore House, which cared for him in his childhood. A check should be made payable to "CHOP Foundation" and "Children's Seashore House" should be noted in the memo, and mailed to CHOP Foundation, P.O. Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352.
