Mr. Moses Effimaka Enokpa, A.K.A “Papa Mamfe”, was born on October 18th 1910. He was the first of five children to the late Pa Kingsley Enokpa and the late Ma Sarah Agbor-Tabe. Pa M. E. Enokpa, is the last of the five children to die. This occurred peacefully at his Small Mamfe residence on January 17, 2016.

In the 105 years that he lived, he has been involved in various ventures including:

Active politician with the then NTNC party.

He was the first chairman of the Mamfe Town and Area Council.

Building contractor (among the first people to own a building material store in Mamfe).

Owned a shop where he sold imported goods such as men's suits, ladies dresses, hats, shoes and children’s dresses.

Owned a large goat farm that won several awards from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Special adviser to the present Chief of Mamfe Town.

He was a devoted Christian, a member of the Presbyterian Church in Egbekaw - Mamfe. Mr. M.E. Enokpa easily connected with everyone, and has positively touched the lives of many in one way or another
