Mr. Abraham Brooks was born in Chambers County, Alabama on April 24, 1949 to Mr. Robert Lee and Mrs. Gertrude Denton Brooks.

He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama. After moving to Detroit, MI, he united with Maiden House Ministries under the auspices of Pastor Dwaine Mathis. He was ordained as a Deacon on October 1, 2010. Deacon Brooks also served faithfully as an usher and greeter until his health failed.

Abraham received his education in the Chambers County School System, graduating from Rehobeth High School of Valley, Alabama in 1968. He worked several years for West Point Pepperell and after moving to Indianapolis, Indiana, he worked for R.C.A. and Brinks Company.

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by a son, Abraham Brooks, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and dedicated wife, Autherine “Nicole” Oliver Brooks, Detroit, MI; a daughter, Sholandra Brooks, Indianapolis, IN; his parents, Robert Lee, Sr. and Gertrude Denton Brooks, Lanett, AL; two brothers, Robert (Rosemary) Brooks, Jr. and Marvin Brooks both of Lanett, AL; one sister, Elizabeth Brooks Thompson, Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, Justin, Michael, Timothy and Abriana; seven aunts; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
