Charles Henry Evans was born August 1, 1940 in Greenville, GA to the late William Glenn & Mary Bell Evans. At an early age, Charles joined the Fellowship Baptist Church where he made Jesus Christ the Lord of His life and attended until the family moved away.

Charles attended Meriwether & Coweta County schools then moved to Atlanta, GA where he met his wife of 56 years in 1960.  Charles loved landscaping and spending time with his family.   He always smiled and encouraged his family to trust in God.

Cherishing his memory is his loving & devoted wife Ruby Lee Evans, two children Vendee and Vernita; 8 granddaughters: Cindy, Venise, Veanna, April, LaTorria, Ashley, Kiana, Adanna; 1 grandson: Diamond Lewis and 5 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Mr. & Mrs. J. D. Hines (Ruby); 1 brother, Melvin Evans; 1 sister-in-law, Mable Evans; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding his death are his other two children Vickie and Vernon along with five brothers William, LB, RV, Leon & Horace Evans.
