His Life

Mr. Calvin Davis was born March 24, 1960 to the parentage of Clarence, Sr. and Annie Ruth Cooper Davis. Calvin, affectionately called “Nick” and “Nicky” was educated in the Lee County Public School System. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined Mountain Springs Baptist Church in Salem, Alabama. Nick had a jovial personality, enjoyed cooking and during a period, managed a Kentucky Fried Chicken. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah A. Higgins Davis, his parents and his brothers, Clarence Davis, Jr. and Christopher Davis. Calvin departed this life on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA.

His survivors include: four children, Ricky Cannon, Opelika (Beauregard Community), AL, LaQuitta S. Love, Columbus, GA, LaQuaya M. Love, Opelika, AL and Clinton LaTravious Davis, Phenix City, AL; six grandchildren; five aunts, Virginia (Jerry) Carr, Salem, AL, Eva Nell Johnson, Cincinnati, OH, Willie Bell Johnson and Mary Nell Kindred both of Opelika, AL and Fannie Davis Carter, Valley, AL; three uncles, John Willie Davis, Philadelphia, PA, Robert Cooper, Jr., Pensacola, FL and J. C. Miles, Salem, AL; and, a host of other relatives and friends.
