Mr. Gardei is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise Gardei, his daughter, Patti Scalf, two grandchildren, Trace Scalf (Breen), Brisbane, Australia and Shea (Scott) McNeilly, Matthews, NC as well as ten grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.

Born Friday, March 23, 1923 in North Tonawanda, NY, Mr. Gardei was the son of the late Arnold and Henrietta Gardei. He was a veteran of World War II and a faithful member of the West Point First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Wesley Men's Sunday School class and a charter member of the Men's Prayer Breakfast. Mr. Gardei was a retired route carrier with the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 32 years. He also was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan!
