Lorenza Gene Madden
“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for
my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept
the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all
who has longed for this appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Lorenza Gene Madden was born in Chambers County, Alabama on September 29, 1953 to the parentage of Eddie Will and Julia Brown Madden. Affectionately called “Ren”, he received his education in the Chambers County Public School System. Lorenza was employed by West Point Stevens for many years.

He was preceded in death by: his father, his maternal grandparents, Willie Allen and Beatrice Carter Brown; and, his paternal grandparents, Moses and Mattie Will Floyd Madden, Sr. Lorenza G. Madden departed this life on Monday, December 7, 2015 at DCH Regional Memorial Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted and loving daughter, Fredricka Madden (Jeremy) Spratling, Helena, AL; his mother, Julia Brown Davis, Hartford, CT; grandchildren, Jasmine Spratling and Jeremy Spratling II both of Helena, AL; siblings, Tony (Bessie) Madden, LaFayette, AL, Regina Davis, Tina Davis, Charles Davis and Michael Davis all of Hartford, CT; six aunts, Helen Brown, Valley, AL, Mary (George) Giscombe and Alice Huguley both of Hartford, CT, Dorothy (Eddie) Thomas, Jacksonville, FL, Mattie (Johnny) Word, Cusseta, AL and Effie (Tom) Oates, Gulf Breeze, FL; three uncles, Roy Brown, Valley, AL, James Madden, Atlanta, GA and Moses (Ann) Madden, Jr., Rochester, NY; nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
