Mr. Roger Thornehill, Sr. was born June 26, 1939 in West Point, Georgia to the late Lois A. Graham and the late George A. Thornehill.

Roger accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined the Union Springs Baptist Church. He was a dedicated member and served with the Deacons Ministry. Deacon Thornehill shared the Gospel with everyone he met. He enjoyed leading devotion with prayer and hymns.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting and auto body/fender work. He retired from Cenpro Tire Company in West Point, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Pauline W. Cotton; one brother, Leroy Heard; and, his brother-in-law, Jesse Cotton, Sr. Mr. Roger Thornehill, Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at EAMC-Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Roger Thornehill, Jr.; three daughters, Priscilla (Ronnie, Sr.) Billingslea, Lanett, AL, Vivian Scott, West Point, GA and Jacqueline (Kenneth) Dozier, Newnan, GA; one grandson, Ronnie (Julie) Billingslea, Jr.; six granddaughters, Vanisha Thornehill, Whitney Billingslea, Erica Thornehill, Princess Ackles, Brittney Scott and Jesica Cofield; 10 great-grandchildren; a niece, Marion Cotton, Riverdale, GA; a nephew, Jesse (Helga) Cotton, Sharpsburg, GA; cousin, Willie Freeman, Macon, GA; and, a host of other relatives and friends.
