His survivors include: two daughters, Dorothy Mae Floyd, Opelika, AL and Felicia "Ta" Butler, Auburn, AL; three sons, Rodney L. Dawkins, Lanett, AL, Jerome (Sarah) Floyd, LaFayette, AL and Troy (Nakia) Butler, Williamsburg, VA. He was a devoted father figure to four step-daughters, Muriel (Johnny) Oliver and Vicky (Rodney) Winston both of Opelika, AL, Cynthia Hightower, Auburn, AL and Christina (Keith) Stallings, Jacksonville, FL; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and, a host of other loving relatives and friends.
