His Life

Wayne Marcelus Hargett was born June 24, 1951 to the late Mancey and Odella Harrington Hargett in Langdale, Alabama. He graduated from Lanier High School of Lanett, Alabama in 1969. Wayne furthered his education graduating from Opelika Technical School in Furniture/Cabinet Making.

During his youth, he was a Boy Scout. His hobbies included fishing, gardening and cooking. He also had a love for animals and feeding birds. A craftsman of furniture building, he enjoyed making beautiful furniture. Wayne was employed by West Point Foundry in West Point, Georgia as a Pattern Maker.

Mr. Hargett departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Maxine Hargett, Lanett, AL; one brother, Joe B. Hargett, Lanett, AL; one aunt, Adella Crawford, Springfield Gardens, NY; devoted cousins, Robert M. Crawford, Jr., Virginia Beach, VA, Michael S. Crawford and John P. Crawford both of Springfield Gardens, NY; a special cousin, Essie Mae Harris, Lanett, AL; and, a host of cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
