Mr. Willie G. Brooks was born October 21, 1960 to the parentage of George W. and Betty A. Chatman Brooks in Birmingham, Alabama. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and joined Zion Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Charles Jackson.

Willie  received his education attending the schools of Chambers County.  His employment included Kentucky Fried Chicken for over 20 years, Tall Oaks Apartments and West Point Pepperell before his health failed. Willie G. Brooks responded to the Lord calling him home on Friday, November 16, 2012 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Kathy R. Brooks and Teresa J. Brooks.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories:  his loving and devoted wife, Nadine Brooks; children, Derrick (Tamika) Brooks and Eric Brooks, Opelika, AL, Brittani (Jason) Williams, David Williams, Shaneedra Williams, Auburn, AL; his mother, Betty A. Brooks, Valley, AL; four sisters, Belinda A. Brooks, Valley, AL, Carrie M. Brooks, Carolyn E. Brooks, Lanett, AL and Marilyn D. Winsley, Opelika, AL; three brothers, Michael L. Brooks, Lanett, AL, Ronnie C. Brooks, Valley, AL and Curtis D. Brooks, Montgomery, AL; nine grandchildren, Taleyla, Taderius, Aliyah, Malika and Marquavia Brooks, Talia Reaves, Janiah Veasley, Davion Williams and LaKayla Walton; and, a host of other loving relatives and friends, including special friends, Tim & Debbie Bunn, Terry & Jennie Reaves, Dennis Brooks and Chris Tauton.
