On Saturday, May 28, 2011, God called Paul Smith from earth to Heaven. He peacefully and quietly slept away at his residence.

Paul was born August 11, 1945 to the parents of the late Elsie” Big Ma” Broughton and Mose Lovelace III in West Point, GA.

Paul was a man of few words, but he knew and loved the Lord. He often spoke of God’s word to everyone that would listen.

Paul was preceded in death his step-father, Homer Lee Broughton; four brothers, Homer “Faddy” Gilbert, Louis “Lightning” Smith, John “Peter Boy” Smith, and Homer “Hook” Broughton; three sisters, Frankie Mae Cofield, Patricia “Pat” Lovelace, Clara “Nanny” Jackson.

Paul leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Shirley Smith, two daughters, Elyse “LeeLee” Smith and Tylisha Smith; devoted sister, Barbara Broughton, West Point, GA; two brother, Charles Broughton, Lithonia, GA and Walter Lovelace, Tacoma, WA; four sisters-in-law, Lovely Gilbert, Chicago, IL, Eva Lawson, Windsor, CT, Celes Anglin, Hartford, CT, Elaine Stewart, Preston, GA; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
